Pigeon meat is high protein, high nutritional value and low fat food.More and more recognition and attention have been focused in this issue, because of culture and consumption of the duck, goose and pig are close to the saturated state.Recently, disease prevention and control difficulty, breeding costs and benefits of increased risk provides an opportunity for the development of pigeon breeding. However,a pro 7.2?7.8 years general pigeon egg, breeding pigeon 6.8?7.5,and the disease and low fecundity cock factors, cannot meet the modern factory production needs. Therefore,to improve the breeding efficiency is one of the important means of pigeon industry promotion. The effect of dietary arginine on male reproductive function was reported significantly improved, but there was no report on the application of arginine in dove. Therefore,in this study, the effects of different concentrations of arginine on reproductive function, immune function, antioxidant capacity and reproductive trait related gene expressions were studied in order to reveal the feasibility of adding exogenous arginine in pigeon production and provid reliable data for the production of pigeon.1.Effects of dietary arginine levels on reproductive function and biochemical traits in the pigeon breederThis study aimed to investigate the effects of dietary arginine levels on reproductive function and biochemical parameters in male pigeons.Early to end pigeon semen quality and artificial insemination rate, serum immunoglobulin, male pigeon interleukin levels and serum and liver antioxidant index were examined in the present study. Methods:select the health and weight close to 84 outstanding male pigeons were randomly divided into 4 groups, with 3 replicates, each repeated 7 white king pigeons.Control group D group fed basal diet;test group A,adding 0.1%level of L-arginine under the basis of its basal diet;test group B,adding 0.4%level under the conditions of its basal diet L-arginine.In group C,0.7%L-arginine was added under the conditions of its basal diet.Arginine is added to the pigeon health sand. The results showed that there were no significant differences in sperm density, viability and single ejaculation at the beginning of the experiment. The middle of the test of control group of cock sperm density, vitality and ejaculate volume were decreased, and the indicators were significantly lower than those in the experiment group was cock semen quality;and the test group A,B,C three groups of each index were significantly increased,A,B,C three groups of sperm density were increased 103.5%(P<0.05),187.4%(P<0.05),78.3%(P<0.05),and B group was significantly higher than the other three groups;a single ejaculate volume were increased by 78.6%(P<0.05),111.2%(P<0.05),80.1%(P<0.05);B group of sperm motility improved 97.6%than the control group(P<0.05),ejaculate volume A C,the two groups were also increased, but the increase is not significant;the indexes of B group were higher than those of the other three groups.Compared with the control group, the sperm density of A,B and C groups increased by 68.8%(P>0.05),145.3%(P<0.05)and 29.1%,individually compared with the control group(P<0.05),43.9%(P>0.05),and the sperm motility was increased by 36.9%(P>0.05),87.9%(P<0.05)and 80.9%(P<0.05)and 73%(P<0.05).The sperm density and viability of group B were significantly higher than those of the other three groups. The sperm of each group of pigeons was collected and the fertilization rate was higher for each group of pigeons. The fertilization rate of group B was higher than that of the other three groups.Compared with the control group, the testosterone levels of A,B and C were enhanced by 12.9%(P>0.05),8%(P>0.05)and 20%(P>0.05),respectively.Compared with group D,the levels of IgA,IgM and IgG in group A were increased by 5.6%(P>0.05),26.9%(P>0.05)and 10.7%(P>0.05)respectively.The levels of IgA,IgM and IgG in group B were increased by 11.1%(P>0.05),20.7%(P>0.05)and 16.4%respectively.(P>0.05),64.5%(P<0.05)and 45.7%(P<0.05),and the concentration of IL-2 was increased by 11.7%,25%and 32.1%,respectively.0.05)and IL-4 were increased by 18.8%(P>0.05),9.6%(P>0.05)and 44.4%(P<0.05),respectively.Compared with the control group D,A,B,peroxidase C three group serum(GSH-PX)were increased by 20%(P>0.05),35.2%(P>0.05),64.6%(P<0.05);superoxide dismutase(SOD)were increased by 21.1%(P<0.05),33.2%(P<0.05),42.6%(P<0.05);anti oxidation capacity(T-AOC)were increased by 27.9%(P<0.05),33.3%(P<0.05),49.9%(P<0.05);malondialdehyde(MDA)were depressed by 42.1%(P<0.05),54.8%(P<0.05),55.6%(P<0.05).Compared with control group, the peroxidase(GSH-PX)in group A,B,and C increased by 9.17%(P>0.05),16.18%(P>0.05)and 93.7%(P>0.05),The superoxide dismutase(SOD)increased by 16.0%(P>0.05),16.9%(P>0.05)and 22.6%(P>0.05),respectively.The antioxidant capacity(T-AOC)increased by 8.4%(P>0.05),14%(P>0.05)and 15.9%(P>0.05),The malondialdehyde(MDA)decreased by 12.9%(P>0.05),12.9%(P>0.05)and 14.5%(P>0.05)respectively.The above results show that the addition of arginine to the diet can improve the reproductive function of the pigeon, and can improve or improve the immune performance and antioxidant level of the pigeon.2.Effects of dietary arginine on expression of reproductive trait related genes in the pigeonThis study aimed to detect the expression of reproductive function related genes in the testis by adding different ratios of arginine in the diet.Compared with the control group, the expression of SPAG6 mRNA was respectively increased by 117%(P<0.05),181%(P<0.05)and 155%(P<0.05).The expression of L-PGDS gene increased by 83%(P<0.05),41%(P<0.05),74%(P<0.05),and the expression of ANXA7 was increased by 22%(P>0.05),41%(P>0.05)P>0.05).Conclusion:The addition of different ratios of arginine in diets can significantly increase the expression of SPAG6 and L-PGDS in testes, which may affect the expression of ANXA7 in testes.Conclusions:(1)Dietary arginine can improve the quality of semen and the fertilization rate of in the pigeon;(2)The addition of arginine in the diet had no significant effects on androgen levels;(3)A certain amount of arginine can significantly enhance the immune level and the antioxidant index in the pigeon.(4)Dietary arginine can affect the gene expressions related to reproductive traits in the testes.
