Global carbon storage is one of the key issues of global climate change.Forest is the most important component of terrestrial ecosystem.It has the dual function of carbon source and carbon sink.The study on forest vegetation in Hunan as the object,in 2009 a forest inventory data as the basis,through the forest volume and biomass conversion factor to calculate the forest biomass and forest biomass,carbon coefficient to estimate forest carbon reserves according to Hunan province.The conclusions of this study can provide some theoretical references for the role and status of forests in the whole carbon cycle in Hunan province.In the 21 million 183 thousand and 500 hm2 land,in accordance with the distribution system,the sample spacing of 4km*8km system is located at km grid intersection.The area is O.lhm square a total of 6615 fixed plots.The forest area of 10 million 119 thousand and 400 hectares(of which there are 9 million 507 thousand and 800 hectares of forest area),the forest coverage rate of 47.77%;total stumpage 373 million 115 thousand cubic meters,330 million 992 thousand and 700 cubic meters of forest;forest stock volume of 45.26 cubic meters per hectare.There are a few natural forest stations in the province,and the proportion of natural forest area to forest land area is 50.08%,and the artificial area accounts for 49.92%.The proportion of natural forest accumulation in forest storage was 57.42%,and that of artificial forest was 42.58%.The proportion of young forest and middle aged forest was 50.22%and 31.3 1%,respectively.The forest dominant tree species(Group)is mainly pine and fir forest,pine wetland,the area accounted for 27.76%of the area,14.54%trees,3.15%In 2009 the forest vegetation in Hunan province according to statistics of carbon reserves,obtained the following results:the province's forest area estimation value of 7 million 391 thousand hm2,the carbon reserves of 226 million 511 thousand T,accounting for 75.33%of the total carbon storage;bamboo forest area estimation value of 778 thousand hm2,the carbon reserves of 14 million 331 thousand T,accounting for 4.77%of the total carbon storage;woodland the estimated area of 102 thousand hm2,the carbon reserves of 1 million 958 thousand T,accounting for 0.65%of the total carbon storage;estimation of shrub land area is 1 million 950 thousand hm2,the carbon reserves of 27 million 442 thousand T,accounting for 9.13%of the total carbon storage;scattered around the carbon reserves of 30 million 461 thousand T,accounting for 10.13%of the total carbon storage.According to the carbon reserves of each forest vegetation type,the carbon density of each forest vegetation type was calculated by dividing the area.By calculation,the carbon density of arbor forest land in Hunan province was 30.6t/hm2 in 2009,the carbon density of bamboo forest land was 18.4 t/hm2,the carbon density of sparse forest land was 19.1 t/hm2,and the carbon density of shrub land was 14.lt/hm2.Continuous inventory data calculation of carbon reserves estimates for live stumpage 300 million 702 thousand T from 2009,2010 to calculate stumpage carbon reserves the carbon storage 308 million 792 thousand and 700 t,2011 316 million 883 thousand and 200 t.
