The purpose of forest management is to intervene forests positively in a period of time and a certain space, and then weigh their value according to the difference of social needs under different conditions,so as to maximize the specific function value in a certain region. In the past, when formulating forest management schemes, only a single service function was considered, and the balanced management between each function and service was not taken into account,so there were many problems. In recent years, the primary task of sustainable forest management has expanded from the simple management with timber production as the basic objective to the multi-objective management measures based on the value of ecosystem services.Traditionally, the traditional mode of operation with timber production as its sole objective can no longer meet the actual needs of sustainable development under the current social and economic conditions. At the present stage,it has gradually become a practical requirement for sustainable forest management to give full play to various types of non-wood production functions, such as water conservation, climate warming mitigation, soil conservation, biodiversity maintenance, air quality improvement and so on.Therefore, the design of forest management scheme based on multi-objective balanced management is not only the practical demand of forestry production, but also the hotspot and frontier of forest management research. This study research on 643.6hm2 forest of Wangyedian Experimental Forest Farm, takes the design of forest management scheme of multi-objective balanced management as the research theme, and establishes multi-objective balanced management scheme for this area by using FSOS,a forest optimization simulation model.Based on the second kind of survey data of forest farm, the current situation and site conditions of forest resources in forest farm were analyzed and the growth model was constructed.According to the overall objectives of forest management, three different management modes:no-management scheme,clear-cutting scheme and consideration scheme, were constructed by FSOS model. The expected effects of the three schemes were compared, and the best forest management scheme with consideration of ecological, social and economic values was determined. It was found that the stand in the study area was basically mature, and some subcompartments had entered the aging stage.Systematic analysis, planning and management are urgently needed.Through the simulation of FSOS models this study compares three different business schemes.By demonstrating the results of different schemes, and further comprehensive analysis, the best scheme is reported in detail, that is,the scheme with both ecological, social and economic values. In order to protect the water source and improve the water conservation function, all streams have set up a buffer zone of 50m wide. These buffer zones do not participate in timber production planning, and can be planned to raise and improve water conservation function.According to the current situation of forests and the law of natural development,in the next 120 years, the study area will get the following annual benefits:cutting 7.5hm2(1.2%)every year, supplying 1000m3 timber, annual output value of 800,000 RMB,annual economic benefit of 500,000 RMB.The large-scale production of Wangyadian forest farm can be carried out through mechanized operation, and the production scale can be based on timber market demand, employment of labor resources and machinery. The degree of industrialization and the development of related industries have been gradually adjusted.Total carbon storage increased by 3000t(13%)compared with non-operation,increasing carbon sink by 25t per year on average, and greatly reducing the risk of natural disasters such as fire and pests. As timber production can drive the development of the entire timber industry,it can produce greater indirect ecological, economic and social contributions.
