Castanopsis fissa Rehdet Wils is widely distributed in Guangxi province.China,most of them are natural forest,except for some planations in the form of fire-resistant forest belt,the species grows rapidly and is one of the most important timber forest species in China.It has a great significance for increasing the diversity of timber wood species,improving the quality of soil and ecological environment,especially for the transformation of Eucalyptus in part of water-source forest in Guangxi.It can not only meet the needs of ecological environment construction,but also create well economic benefits.In this study,the growth amount of Castanopsis fissa was considered,and Castanopsis fissa with excellent growth characteristics was selected to satisfy the needs of modern forestry development.The main research results are as follows:(1)Growth data of eight provenances were analysed through the variance and pairwise comparison,the results showed that the DBH,tree height and volume growth have remarkable differences between provenance,adopted the two-two test comparisons analysis by Duncan's multiple range test in SPSS.The results showed that the DBH,tree height and volume growth from Pingguo provenance were best,there were three characters had significant difference from Yongfu provenance,and two characters came significant difference from Mingxi and Xingning provenances.Moreover,the DBH growth characters from Hunan were significantly different from those from Pingyuan,yongfu and Mingxi,but the differences in tree height and accumulation were not significant.(2)Analysis of variance and pairwise comparison of the growth data of 50 families showed that there were significant differences among the families.The PG07 from Pingguo came the best performance,the growth characters of DBH were significantly different from those of 10 families such as YF11,and the volume growth was significantly different with other 11 families such as PY02.Secondly,the PG05,PG06 and PG08 families from Pingguo,the CW04 family from Cangwu,the RS03 family from Rongshui also showed good growth traits,and there were significant diff'erences in DBH,and volume growth between PY04 and other families.(3)In terms of the hereditary capacity and genetic increment of(Castanopsis fissa.the hereditary capacity of provenance and family was higher,the hereditary capacity of provenance was greater than the heritability of the family,and the hereditary capacity have attained more than 80%.The genetic increment of provenance and family was not high,and the majority of families had genetic increment less than 10%.(4)In the calculation of the comprehensive coefficient of family selection,the principal component analysis(pca),variation analysis and analytic hierarchy process(ahp)were used to distribute the weights of their main characters,after comparative analysis,it is considered that the weights estimated by pca and ahp were more reasonable.In the evaluation of comprehensive coefficient,the weight,the average value of traits and genetic increment of characters were used to unify the quantitative evaluation coefficient,and the reorder was made according to the score,and the bar chart of comprehensive coefficient was prepared for family selection.(5)According the comprehensive coefficient obtained by the unified quantification to chart analysis,7 excellent families were selected and evaluated,respectively belonging to Pingguo provenance(No.PG05,PG06,PG07,PG08,PG09),Cangwu provenance(No.CW04)and Rongshui provenance(No.RS03).The selected families accounted for 14.0%of the 50 families.Compared with the selected excellent families and the average of all families,the average DBH increased by 10.756%to 24.72%,the average tree height increased by 5.49%to 6.50%,and the average volume increased by 27.72%-58.42%.The selected family traits were obviously different from those of other families,which provided solid basic data for the next breeding works.
