For the problem of instability and decline of alfalfa yield and quality on account of the harvesting and processing machinery does not match the planting area in small and medium-sized alfalfa planting and processing enterprises and cooperatives in China.In this study,nine alfalfa varieties of the fall dormancy grade 2-8 planted at the comprehensive test station of the Alu Kerqin National Grass System in Chifeng City were used as test materials.Through comprehensive analysis of the adaptability,production performance and nutritional quality of each variety,the selection of alfalfa varieties with strong adaptability and excellent yield and quality is selected.Based on the time difference between varieties entering the same growth periods,the dominant varieties were selected by grey relational comprehensive analysis.The optimal planting and harvesting plan of alfalfa was obtained To minimize the impact of missing the best harvest time on alfalfa quality and yield,and to meet the consistency of yield and quality of the same batch of commercial alfalfa.At the same time,the dynamic characteristics of yield and nutrient composition of different alfalfa varieties in different phonological period of different cutting times were analyzed.It provides a theoretical basis for selecting the optimal harvest time of alfalfa,improves the overall competitiveness of alfalfa industry in China,and promotes the healthy development of herbage husbandry.Through the comprehensive analysis of the test results,the following conclusions are drawn:1.The dynamic study on the yield and nutrient content of two fall dormancy grades to eight fall dormancy grades with different alfalfa varieties showed that the plant height,hay yield,neutral detergent fiber and acid detergent fiber contents were increased,while crude protein,crude fat and crude ash contents were decreased of different alfalfa varieties with the change of phonological period from budding stage to full bloom stage,Based on the interaction between yield and relative feeding value(RFV),the paper concluded that cutting at the early bloom stage could obtain alfalfa products with good yield and quality.2.There is no obvious regularity in the overwintering rate of alfalfa varieties with different fall dormancy grades and the time of entering each phonological period,so the planting plan of alfalfa can not be guided by the fall dormancy grades.3.According to the comprehensive evaluation of adaptability,production performance,quality characteristics and stable phonological period differences,Algonquin with 2?3 fall dormancy grade and Longwei 6010 with 6 fall dormancy grade showed prominent performances,and had good comprehensive characteristics,which was suitable for the matched planting in Chifeng area.
