In view of the large number of sugar residues in Guangxi that have not yet been industrialized and utilized effectively and the huge demand for high-quality and low-cost vegetable substrates in Guangxi, this subject takes sugar residues in Guangxi as the main raw material, and on the basis of fully studying the physicochemical properties of sugar residues,by adding ammonium sulfate to adjust the C/N ratio of sugar residues, carrying out the composting fermentation in the meantime, screening out the optimal parameters of nitrogen level for fermentation of sugar residue substrates, and furthermore, making the mixed substrate by compounding the sugar residue of optimal level of nitrogen with peat and perlite,by studying the effects of different formulations of mixed substrates on vegetable seedling during growth period,to determine the optimum ratio of mixed substrates for vegetable seedlings,so as to provide theoretical basis for using sugar residue to produce vegetable seedling and cultivation matrix, which could be used in Guangxi. The industrialization research and development of sugar residue substrate has laid a foundation for research and has important reference value. The main results are as follows:1.When ammonium sulfate was used as nitrogen source and the C/N ratio was adjusted separately to 30:1,25:1 and 20:1,the temperature of sugar residue heap was the fastest, and the high temperature retention time was the longest and the cooling speed was the fastest;pH and EC reached the stable state at the earliest time, and the C/N ratio decreased the fastest and reached the stable state at the earliest time. The content of total potassium and total phosphorus in the decomposed substrate basically met the requirements of decomposition, and the sugar residue decomposed with C/N ratio 30:1 had the highest germination rate and index for cucumber and tomato seeding.2.Decomposed Sugar residue with C/N ratio to 30:1,peat and perlite were mixed to form substrate. The results showed that 5:4:1 treatment could significantly increase the plant height, stem diameter, leaf area and dry and fresh weight of cucumber,as well as significantly increase the germination index of cucumber seed, indicating that 5:4:1 treatment had the most obvious effect on promoting the growth of cucumber plants, while 4:5:1treatment could significantly improve the growth of cucumber plants. The height, stem diameter and leaf area of tomato plants were significantly increased, but the difference of dry and fresh weight and germination index was not significant.3.Decomposed Sugar residue with C/N ratio to 30:1,peat and perlite were mixed at a volume ratio of 5:4:1 to form substrate, and then cucumber seedlings were added with Trichoderma Guizhou solution at the proportion of 5%,10%and 15%in volume. The results showed that adding 10%Trichodenna Guizhou solution could significantly increase the root activity and promote the plant growth, which was significantly higher than that of control and adding 5%Trichoderma Guizhou solution, while 15%Trichoderma Guizhou solution could significantly improve the growth of cucumber seedlings also. There was no significant difference in the treatment of 10%Trichoderma Guizhou liquid, therefore. In summary, ammonium sulfate as carbon source was added to sugar residue at a ratio of 30:1 for fermentation, and the fermentation effect was the best. The fermented substrate had complete nutrition and met the requirements of seedling-raising substrate. The fermented sugar residue was mixed with traditional seedling-raising substrate peat and perlite, and the effects of 5:4:1 and 4:5:1 on the growth of cucumber and tomato seedlings were the most obvious. The application of fermented and decomposed sugar residue in vegetable substrates can replace 40%~50%of peat, which can reduce the proportion of peat used in the substrates and reduce production costs.Adding Trichoderma Guizhou liquid into the mixing formula, the effect of 10%addition on cucumber seedling growth is the most obvious, which can be used for reference in Cucumber Seedling production.
