Abstract/Summary:
Corn straw is an abundant crop resource,which plays an important role in promoting the sustainable development of the western region.The mechanical properties of maize straw in practice were analyzed,which provided theoretical basis for rational utilization of maize straw and improvement of mechanical equipment in practice.In this paper,the long-term air-dried Xinsheng No.18 corn straw was taken as the research object.The mechanical properties of compression,tension,bending,shearing and impact crushing of corn straw were studied by universal testing machine and impact test bench.The effects of sampling position,sample length and stem node on the mechanical properties of corn straw crushing were explored.The tensile tests of com straw bark,bract leaf and sheath showed that the tensile properties of corn bract leaf and sheath were similar.The maximum tensile force of corn bract leaf was 82.57N/mm2,the maximum tensile force of corn sheath was 277.2N/mm2,and the maximum tensile force of corn straw sheath appeared in the first stretching without stem node,and the average maximum tensile stress per unit area was 1233.01N/mm2.The minimum tensile force occurs in the fifth segment with stem joints,and the average maximum tensile stress per unit area is 17.75N/mm2.Corn stalk nodes have significant effects on the compression,bending,shearing and impact of corn stalk.Straw samples with stem nodes are more easily compressed,bent,sheared and impacted;sampling location has a significant impact on compression and impact test;half of the straw bending,shearing,impact loading direction has a significant impact on the test,corn straw pulp can play a buffer role to make the straw can withstand greater force.
