Spatio-temporal Evolution Characteristics And Influencing Factors Of Rape Production Layout In Sichuan Province

Rape is the largest oil crop in China and is one of the main crops to ensure oil safety in China.Sichuan Province is located in the superior development area of rapeseed in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River.In 2017,Sichuan Province produced 2.883 million tons of rapeseed,ranking first in the country.Therefore,the analysis of the current situation of rape production and development in Sichuan province,the spatial and temporal evolution of rape production in the past 30 years(1988-2017)and the influencing factors are conducive to further optimizing the layout of rape production in our province,in order to stabilize and increase the area of rape cultivation.Promoting yield and efficiency of rapeseed and giving play to the multi-function of rapeseed production according to local conditions provide scientific basis.Based on the location theory,comparative advantage theory and regional planning theory,this paper makes use of the statistics and questionnaire data of rape production in Sichuan province in the past 30 years(1988-2017).The present situation of rapeseed production in Sichuan province,the comparative advantages of production in different regions and the time dynamic changes were analyzed and compared.The regional center of gravity analysis and GIS spatial analysis were used to analyze the change of geographical center of gravity and regional layout of rapeseed production in Sichuan Province.By constructing static panel model,the main factors affecting the layout of rapeseed production are analyzed by regression analysis method.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The characteristics of rape production and development in Sichuan Province in the past 30 years are as follows: First,the total planting area and total production of rape in Sichuan Province have shown a positive trend of fluctuation and increase.Second,the proportion of planting area and yield of rapeseed in Sichuan province to the total sowing area and total yield of rapeseed in China is decreasing first and then rising.The third is the uneven distribution of rape production in Sichuan Province.Rape cultivation is mainly concentrated in the Sichuan Basin and the basin hills.Fourth,rape production has an important position in Sichuan Province.In 2017,the production of rape in Sichuan Province has 8 cities including Mianyang City,Chengdu City,Ziyang City,Guangyuan City,Deyang City,Suining City,Nanchong City,Meishan City,and Dazhou City.(2)The characteristics of time series changes in rape production and development in Sichuan Province in the past 30 years are as follows: The proportion of sown area in Chengdu plain rape has always been higher,and it has basically remained between 50 % and 60 %.It is a relatively stable production of rape in Sichuan Province.The main planting area;The planting area of rape in the northeast of Sichuan Province increased the most and contributed the most to the increase of rape yield in our province.(3)The spatial evolution characteristics of rape production layout in our province are as follows: The center of gravity of rape production is basically stable,and the main production area of rape is migrated from the Chengdu Plain to the northeast of Sichuan,while expanding to the south of Sichuan.In the past 30 years,the area of comprehensive superiority of rape production in Sichuan Province has been increasing,and the dominant area has expanded from Chengdu Plain to northeast Sichuan.The areas with an average of more than 1 in the comprehensive advantage index of rape production from 1988 to 2017 include Mianyang City,Deyang City,Suining City,Chengdu City,Dazhou City,Guangyuan City,Ziyang City,Bazhong City,and Nanchong City.(4)The analysis of factors influencing the changes in the layout of rape production in Sichuan Province shows that the main factors affecting the layout of rape production in Sichuan Province are the total power of agricultural machinery,the total length of roads,the per capita area of arable land,the affected area,the amount of fertilizer applied and the effective irrigation area.Among them,the affected area has negative effect on rapeseed production,and the remaining factors have positive effect on rapeseed production.(5)Based on the conclusion of this study,the countermeasures and suggestions for optimizing the layout of rape production in our province are proposed: First,we pay attention to the layout planning of rape production and give full play to the comparative advantages of various regions;Second,we will strengthen infrastructure development and raise the level of agricultural science and technology.Third,we will increase policy support to implement financial and rural financial subsidies.The fourth is to extend the industrial chain and give full play to the comprehensive benefits of rape production.
