Hazelnuts belong to the family Betulaceae genus Corylus,and the hybrid of Corylus heterophylla×Corylus avellana is a cultivar of both significant economic and ecological benefits with thin nuts shell,large nuts,high yield and cold tolerance.At present,layering is mainly used to propagate hazelnuts while cutting propagations less used due to low rooting rate.In this study,propagation techniques of the hybrid of Corylus heterophylla×Corylus avellana were discussed by using cuttings of different levels of lignification,selection of different media and different auxin treatment.The results are as follows:1.Through the study on the influence of differently lignified cuttings on rooting,the base sprout shoots with semi-lignification degree acted as the best match with a rooting rate of 62.86% and an average root length of 6.25 cm.2.The optimal media was vermiculite + perlite + peat(1:1:2),with an average rooting rate of 65.71%,an average root length of 6.8cm,an average number of first order lateral roots of 106,and the longest root length of 11.25 cm.3.The optimal plant growth regulators treatment on rooting rate was: soaking of IBA 200mg/L for 120 min,with an average rooting rate of 69.52%and the highest rooting rate of 74.29%.4.The optimal plant growth regulators treatment on first-order lateral roots was: soaking of IBA 200mg/L for 120 min,with an average first-order lateral roots number of 103.88,and the highest first-order lateral roots number of 115.5.The optimal plant growth regulators treatment on the average root length was: soaking of IBA 400mg/L for 180 min,with an average root length of 6.58 cm,and the longest root length of 7.04 cm.6.The results showed that the best rooting system for hazelnut cutting propagation was: semi-lignified base sprout,vermiculite + perlite + peat(1:1:2),treatment of IBA 200mg/L for 120 min.with an average rooting rate of 69.52%In this study the influence factors of pin’ou heterophylla hybrid hazelnut cutting propagation,proposed effective cutting propagation technology,enriched the theory of tree cutting propagation,provided technical support for the development and breeding of hazelnut in sichuan,and contributed to the production and cultivation promotion.
