The study aims evaluate the nutritional value of expanded microbial corn stover silage,compare the difference of nutritional value of expanded microbial corn stover silage,corn stover silage and corn stover,and the effect on the performance of beef cattle and blood biochemical indexes,so as to provide some theoretical basis for the application of expanded microbial corn stover silage.This research mainly includes three experiments.Experiment 1,the nutrient composition and ruminal degradation characteristics of expansional and microbial corn stover silageThis experiment was conducted to determine the nutrient composition and ruminal degradation characteristics of expansional and microbial corn stover silage,corn stover silage and corn stover.Three China red bulls fitted with permanent rumen fistulas were selected to estimate the ruminal degradation characteristics of crude protein?CP??neutral detergent fiber?NDF?and acid detergent fiber?ADF?using Nylon Bag technique.The results were as follows:?1?There was no significant difference in DM,EE and ADF contents among expanded microbial corn stover silage,corn stover silage and corn stover?P>0.05?.The CP content expanded microbial corn stover silage was significantly higher than corn stover silage and corn stover?P<0.01?.The NDF content of expanded microbial corn stover silage was significantly lower than corn stover silage and corn stover?P<0.05?.The content of NDF of expanded microbial corn stover silage was significantly lower than corn stover silage?P<0.05?.The ASH content of expanded microbial corn stover silage was significantly lower than corn stover silage?P<0.05?,but there was no significant difference between corn stover and the other two?P>0.05?.?2?The effective degradation of CP showed expansional and microbial corn stover silage>corn stover silage>corn stover,with significant differences among them?P<0.01?;The effective degradation of NDF showed expansional and microbial corn stover silage>corn stover silage>corn stover,the expansional and microbial corn silage significantly higher than corn sover?P<0.05?,but there was no significant difference between corn stover silage and corn stover?P>0.05?;The effective degradation of ADF of expansional and microbial corn stover silage and corn stover silage significantly higher than corn stover?P<0.01?,but there was no significant difference between expansional and microbial corn stover silage and corn stover silage?P>0.05?.Experiment 2,the gas generation characteristics of expansional and microbial corn stover silageThis experiment was conducted to determine the ruminal environmental parameters of expansional and microbial corn stover silage,corn stover silage and corn stover,and evaluate the nutritive of them.Three China red bulls fitted with permanent rumen fistulas were selected as the provider of rumen fluid.Gas production?GP?,pH of fermentation broth,ammonia nitrogen?NH3-N?,microbial protein concentration?MCP?and volatile fatty acid content?VFA?were determined by in vitro gas production method.The results are as follows:the pH,ammonia nitrogen,volatile fatty acid of these three corn stover silage showed little significant difference?P>0.05?.However,the gas production showed expansional and microbial corn stover silage>corn stover silage>corn stover,with significant differences among them?P<0.05?.The microbial protein and acetic acid/propionic acid of expansional and microbial corn stover silage were higher than corn stover?P<0.05?.Experiment 3,effects of expansional and microbial corn stover on production performance and blood biochemical indices of beef cattleThe purpose of this study was to investigate effects of expansional and microbial corn stover on production performance and blood biochemical indices of beef cattle.Eighteen Simmental hybrid cows with similar weight?354.83±16.11 kg?were randomLy divided into three groups,with six cows in each group.The three groups of experimental animals were fed with the same concentrated feed,and the roughage were expansional and microbial corn stover,corn stover silage,corn stover,respectively.The results showed that:?1?The average daily gain of expanded microbial corn stover group was significantly higher than corn stover silage group and corn stover group?P<0.05?,and there was no significant difference between corn stover silage group and corn stover group?P>0.05?.The dry matter intake of expansional and microbial corn stover group was significantly higher than corn stover silage group,and corn stover silage group was significantly higher than corn stover group?P<0.01?.The weight gain of the expansional and microbial corn stover group was significantly greater than that of the corn stover silage group and the conventional corn stover group?P<0.05?,but there was no significant difference between the corn stover silage group and the conventional corn stover group.?2?No significant differences in total protein?TP?,globulin?GLB?,glucose?GLU?,alanine transaminase?ALT?,total antioxidant capacity?T-AOC?,superoxide dismutase?SOD?,malondialdehyde?MDA?content were found among three groups?P>0.05?.The albumin?ALB?content in the expansional and microbial corn stover group was significantly higher than that in the corn stover group?P<0.05?.And the glutamic-pyruvic transaminase?AST?content in the expansional and microbial corn stover group and yellow corn silage group was significantly higher than that in the corn stover group?P<0.01?.Based on the results above,conclusion of this study are as follows:?1?The contents of CP of expansional and microbial corn stover silage was higher than corn stover silage and corn stover,but the content of NDF of expansional and microbial corn stover silage was lower than the others.These results indicated that the effective degradation of CP,NDF,ADF showed expansional and microbial corn stover silage was higher than corn stover silage and corn stover.?2?The 24 h GP of expansional and microbial corn stover was highest among them,and the MCP and acetic acid/propionic acid were higher than corn stover.?3?Expansional and microbial corn stover could increase the production performance of beef cattle,and had no significantly effect on the most of blood biochemical indices.
