Fractures, especially long bone fractures, are one of the most common surgical problems in dogs. The onset is often accompanied by severe pain, bone morphology changes, swelling of the affected part, abnormal motion of the affected part and bone friction sound, leading to motor disorders in the light, the loss of motor function and even life-threatening.In recent years, with the increase of pet dog feeding scale and the change of feeding environment, the occurrence of dog long bone fracture is increasing.Long bone fracture causes can be divided into mechanical violence, disease and clinical cases of mechanical fracture a larger proportion of violence, but for the mechanical fracture incidence status reports of violence, because of different regional scale of breeding dogs, breed different result difference is bigger, the help of diagnosis and treatment of long bone fractures in a regional existence has certain limitations. The treatment of long bone fracture has been carried out for a short time in Harbin city.In clinical practice, the treatment methods are mainly surgical internal fixation, and the fixation schemes are mainly compression plate fixation and bridge plate fixation. In order to help dogs fracture diagnosis and treatment of Harbin region,it is necessary to breed the incidence and treatment of long bone fracture of a detailed study,so part of Harbin city pet hospital clinical cases of fracture of the statistics, get the dog long bone fracture incidence, summarize the effect of surgical treatment, effective for the local pet hospital make a diagnosis and give treatment long bone fractures in a dog provide strong theoretical support.According to the results of the investigation, from Octobe r 2018 to December 2019,3,565 cases were received in the outpatient department,203 cases(5.69%)of which were mechanical violent fractures, among which 102 were long-bone fractures. The clinical incidence of long bone fracture was 2.86%,accounting for 50.24% of the fracture cases. The average age of the affected dogs was 1.91 ± 1.93 years(4-10 years).35 cases(34.31%)were less than 1 year old,and 65 cases(63.73%)were 1-8 years old(including 8 years old).2 cases(1.96%)were dogs over 9 years old(including 9 years old). But the occurrence of long bone fracture is less in old dogs. The relationship between the cause of fracture and the location of the disease was as follows: 39 cases of high fall, including 29 cases of forelimb fracture, accountin g for 74.35%,and 10 cases of hindlimb fracture, accounting for 25.64%.There were 31 cases of vehicle impact, including 7 cases of forelimb fracture(22.58%)and 24 cases of hindlimb fracture(77.41%).Other violent factors resulted in 32 cases, among which 13(40.62%)were forelimb fractures and 19(59.37%)were hindlimb fractures. The relationship between the causes of long bone fractures and the types of fractures was as follows: among the 39 cases of high fall,24 cases of horizontal fracture accounted for 61.53%.There were 12 cases of oblique fracture, accounting for 30.76%.Comminuted fractures occurred in 3 patients(7.69%).There were 31 cases of fracture caused by vehicle impact, including 10 cases of transverse fracture, accounting for 32.25%.8 cases of oblique fracture, accounting for 25.80%;Comminuted fractures occurred in 13 cases, accounting for 41.93%.There were 32 cases of fracture caused by other violent factors, including 14 cases of transverse fracture, accounting for 43.75%.There were 13 cases of oblique fracture, accounting for 40.62%.Comminuted fractures were found in 5 patients, accounting for 15.62%.As for the relationship between the occurrence of long bone fractures and the body size of dogs, there were 39 cases of high fall,36 cases of small dogs, accounting for 92.30%,and 3 cases of medium dogs, accounting for 7.69%.There were 31 cases of vehicle collision,20 cases of small dogs, accounting for 64.51%,8 cases of medium dogs, accounting for 32.00%,and 3 cases of large do gs,accounting for 9.37%.Among the 32 cases with other violent factors,24 were small dogs, accounting for 75.00%,and 8 were medium dogs, accounting for 25.00%.Results for long bone fractures,28 cases of transverse fractures with compression plate fixation respectively(14 cases)and bone plate fixed bridge(14 cases),pressure plate fixed postoperative walking back to normal, the average time of 10.85 ±1.29 days for bridging plate fixed walking back to normal after the average time was 11.92 ± 1.38 days, pressure plate fixed Bridges and postoperative recovery time shorter than bone plate fixation. In terms of motor function recovery, compression plate fixation is slightly better than bridge plate fixation, but bridge plate fixation can not only restore motor function, but also basically complete the structural reconstruction of fractured bone tissue. All 12 cases of comminuted fractures were treated with bridge plate fixation, and good therapeutic effect was obtained.
