| In recent years,Laiwu black goat raised in central Shandong province had often suffered from lamb paralysis.The different degree occurrence,the morbidity and the mortality rate was high,which brought the certain economic lossed to the farm household every year.The pathogenesis of lamb paralysis is complex,and the types and clinical manifestations of paralysis are diverse,which makes it more difficult to prevent and cure lamb paralysis.In order to analyze the specific causes of lamb paralysis in Laiwu black goat and formulate prevention and control measures,this study was carried out from March to December 2019 on the incidence and death of lamb paralysis in Laiwu black goat farms in Laiwu,Gangcheng and Feicheng,in Shandong Province.Observed the clinical symptoms and pathological changes of paralyzed lambs,routine blood tests,blood glucose tests and serological tests of bacterial infections,blood smear microscopy,and forage feed on sick sheep farms and serum trace elements in paralyzed lambs was test.The result shows:the age of onset of lambs is mainly concentrated in 1 to 4 weeks old.The clinical symptoms of the paralyzed lambs are mainly mental depression,weight loss,difficulty walking and paralysis.Most of them have anemia,pale mucosa,swollen surface lymph nodes,and some cases are accompanied by symptoms such as dyspnea and diarrhea.The total number of paralyzed lamb white blood cells is higher than normal.The blood glucose content of paralyzed lambs was significantly lower than that of normal lambs(P<0.05).Paralyzed lambs have mixed infections of E.coli,Streptococcus,Clostridium welchii and so on.The content of iron,copper,magnesium,selenium,calcium and other trace elements in the serum of paralyzed lambs is different from that of healthy lambs.The content of iron,magnesium and selenium in the serum of paralyzed lambs in Laiwu sheep farm(P<0.05)is significantly lower than that of healthy lambs in Gangcheng farm.The content of iron,copper,magnesium and selenium in the serum of paralyzed lambs in sheep farms(P<0.05)was significantly lower than that in healthy lambs,and the content of calcium in the serum of paralyzed lambs in Feicheng sheep farm(P<0.05)was significantly lower than that of healthy lambs.Based on the test results,it can be concluded that the main cause of paralysis in Laiwu black goat lambs is the abnormal metabolism results from trace elements,hypoglycemiacauses slow growth,weight loss,anemia and decreased resistance of sick sheep.Secondary infections such as E.coli,streptococcus and Clostridium welchii mixed infections cause the condition of lamb worsened and death.On the basis of the above analysis,this study provides the following measures for the prevention and treatment of lamb paralysis: strengthening feeding management,improving nutrition levels,and supplementing trace elements before the ewe is born;vaccinating the Ovine Braxy/Struck/Lamb Dysentery and Enterotoxaemia Vaccine before ewe lambing half a month;Strengthen the conservation of lambs;for paralyzed lambs,timely supplement calcium,selenium,iron,magnesium and other trace elements,supplement body fluids and glucose,and at the same time cooperate with antibacterial drugs and other measures to prevent and treat.The production practice shows that these measures have obvious effects on the prevention and treatment of lamb paralysis. |
