Forest transformation is a process in which a country's(regional)forest resources change from decreasing to increasing. The ideal forest transformation is a state in which the quantity and quality of forest resources are doubled with the development of social economy. As China's economic development enters a new normal,China's forestry development model shifts from wood production to ecological restoration and construction. It is mainly based on the use of forests to obtain economic benefits and the protection of forests. In this context, although China has experienced a forest transformation from a reduction in forest cover to an increase,it is more in need of a transformation in forest quality improvement.Under the background of the continuous transformation and development of China's social and economic structure,we discuss the stage of China's forest transformation. From the perspective of forest quality and quantity,we comprehensively analyze the impact of natural and social economic factors on China's forest transformation, and protect and develop. It is of great significance that China's precious state-owned forest resources, building ecological civilization and beautiful China, and realizing the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation are of great significance.Based on the data of 750 forest inventory panels from 30 provinces in China(excluding Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan and Chongqing)from 1989 to 2013,the study studied the transformation of China's forests from the perspective of forest quantity and quality.First, the statistical analysis of the accumulation, area and forest age structure of China's forest resources from the national level, economic regional level and forest rights perspective;secondly, using the EKC model, from the national level, economic regional perspective and forest rights The three dimensions of the perspective empirically analyze the relationship between the quality and quantity of forest resources and per capita GDP,and compare the differences in forest transformation driving mechanisms under different regions and different forest rights. Finally, the countermeasures and suggestions for promoting the ideal transformation of forests in China are proposed.Research indicates:(1)At the national level,China has not yet achieved the ideal forest transformation with double economic and forest resources growth. Its main drivers are natural, economic, demographic, technical and policy factors. At present,China has crossed the first inflection point between 1991 and 1992 in terms of the quality and quantity of forests. The quality and quantity of forests have declined with the development of the economy, and economic growth has not yet led to the growth of forest resources.(2)There is no EKC relationship in the forest quality transformation in the eastern region, and the curve of the transformation of the forest quantity is inverted U-shaped.The driving factors are mainly natural and technical factors. At present,a transformation has been completed, but it is caused by economic development. The reduction of the number of forests is not an ideal transformation;the curve forms of the transformation of forest quantity and quality in the central region are inverted U-shaped,driven by natural factors, economic factors, technical factors and policy factors, all of which have now crossed one Inflection point, but it is currently a kind of economic development that brings about a decrease in the amount of forest resources and a decline in quality. It is not an ideal forest transformation;the transformation curve of forest quality in the western region is in the form of N,experiencing two inflection points, and the forest The number of transformations is inverted U-shaped,only experienced an inflection point, driven by natural factors, demographic factors and policy factors. Therefore, the overall development of the western region due to economic development is the improvement of forest quality and the decrease in the number of forests.Unsatisfactory forest transformation.(3)The transformation of the quantity and quality of forests in the northeast state-owned forest areas is an inverted N-shaped curve. It has undergone two transformations. The main driving factors are natural factors, economic factors, population factors and technical factors. The trend of declining forest quality and quantity is an unsatisfactory forest transformation;there is no EKC relationship between forest quantity and economic development in the southern collective forest area, and the transformation of forest quality is N type, and has experienced two The main driving factors of the turning point are natural factors, demographic factors, technical factors and policy factors. At present, economic development has brought about an ideal transformation of the growth of forest numbers.Based on the above research results,it is proposed to actively utilize the favorable natural climatic conditions and site conditions of various localities, adapt local conditions, plant different dominant tree species, and form different forestry industries;increase investment in forestry science and technology, enhance forestry science and technology innovation ability, improve forestry development level;accelerate forestry Optimize and adjust the industrial structure, accelerate the upgrading of the forestry industrial structure;maintain the implementation of the forestry policies of the six major forestry ecological projects, and maintain the economic, ecological and social benefits of forestry.
