Survival and development are the two most concerned themes of human beings. The ocean is becoming the second living space of human beings,in which marine fishery can not only meet the needs of people's daily life for material life, but also play a great role in promoting China's economic growth. As an important part of marine fishery, mariculture has become an important pillar of economic revitalization in coastal areas. With the continuous development and utilization of mariculture resources, the geographical agglomeration of mariculture industry in China's coastal areas is increasingly obvious. Therefore,it is important to explore the spatial agglomeration characteristics and influencing factors of the development of mariculture industry to promote the economic development of China's coastal areas.Based on the research and arrangement of the existing domestic and foreign literature, this paper summarizes the six development processes, current situation and problems of mariculture. Then, based on the theory of industrial agglomeration and location theory, this paper analyzes the spatial agglomeration characteristics of mariculture by using four indicators: location Gini coefficient, location quotient, industrial concentration rate and regional average industrial concentration rate. The results are as follows:(1)there are obvious spatial clustering characteristics and unbalanced distribution of mariculture industry in the coastal areas of China.Algae concentration is the strongest, followed by shellfish, crustaceans and fish mariculture;(2)fish mariculture is mainly concentrated in Guangdong Province,Fujian Province,Hainan Province and Shandong Province;crustaceans mariculture is mainly concentrated in Guangdong Province,Guangxi Province,Fujian Province and Shandong Province;shellfish mariculture is mainly concentrated in Shandong Province,Fujian Province,Liaoning Province and Guangdong Province;algae mariculture is mainly concentrated in Fujian Province,Shandong Province,Liaoning Province and Zhejiang Province;(3)there are obvious differences between the north and the south.Fish and crustaceans are mainly concentrated in the south, shellfish and algae are mainly concentrated in the north. Finally, through the analysis of theinfluencing factors of the agglomeration of mariculture industry, the results show that:economic accounting, production factors, processing and trade are highly related.Among them, the economic output of fishery has the highest correlation;the second is the mariculture area and the number of mariculture personnel in the production factors;the import and export of aquatic products in processing and trade and the output of processed products are also the important influencing factors of mariculture agglomeration.Based on the above conclusions, some suggestions are put forward to promote the development of mariculture in coastal areas of China. The provinces and cities with large scale of mariculture suggest to increase the single production, not blindly expand the cultivation area;use the spatial agglomeration effect to accelerate the upgrading of industrial agglomeration;optimize the mariculture mode, improve the ecological efficiency of the single production;develop the leading processing enterprises, and cultivate the ecological regional brand.
