As an important kind of germplasm resource,23 strains of Psathyrostachys were studied from three aspects:grass yield and correlated traits,seed yield and correlated traits,determination and evaluation of nutritional value in this paper.We can get the conclusions as follows:(1)From the correlation analysis of grass yield and its correlated traits,we can get that the grass yield has significant correlation with plant height and growth rate,and the relation of correlation coefficient is the plant height>the growth rate.The grass yield has extremely significant correlation with leaf height and spike length,the correlation coefficients are all 0.56.The grass yield has no significant correlation with basal diameter and crown diameter.The yield of material 200801 in the first cutting is 5041.5kg/hm2.During the second cutting,the reproducibility of the material 565060?531827 and 502572 is strongest,the hay yield reach 3441 kg/hm2?3356 kg/hm2 and 3324 kg/hm2,89%,87%and 71%of the first crop yield,respectively.(2)From the correlation analysis of seed production and its correlated traits,we can find that the seed production has extremely significant correlations with reproductive branch number;the seed production has significant correlations with thousand seed weight;the seed production has no significant correlations with other traits.From the significance of material seed yield,there are significant differences between most kind of materials.the material 200801 and 619565 has the highest seed production,reaching 544.4kg/hm2,542.4kg/hm2 respectively.(3)In the part of determination and evaluation of nutritional values among 23 strains of Psathyrostachys,the results are that the RFV value is between 76.93 and 127.11;GI values ranged from 6.90 to 34.06,indicating significant variability in nutritional composition and forage value.The highest relative values of feed for strains 531828,499560 and 200802 are 127.11,115.89 and 113.74,respectively.strains 531828 and 499560 have the highest GI,which are 34.06 and 30.78,respectively.they have great breeding potential in improving forage quality.
