Thanks to the diversified climatecharacteristics of Guangxi,many indigenous chicken breeds are bred in Guangxi.The Outbreaks of public health events such as avian influenza has roused great influence on the traditional live poutry market.The aim of the study was carried out To address this challenging and adapt to the the development of the chilled chicken market.Carcass appearence,body measurements,carcass traits and egg quality have been explored in the four indidgenous chicken breeds on 150 days.The main results of the thesis are as follows:In terms of carcass appearence,the skin color of Sanhuang chicken and Xiayan chicken were both yellow,especially more uniform in Sanhuang chicken,while the Lingshan indigenous breeds had lighter skin color.The shin color was yellow except Donglan black bone chicken and Lingshan native(black feather)chicken.both the body size and shin of Donglan black bone chicken and Lingshan indigenous breed were significantly longer than the other breeds,while Sanhuang chicken and Xiayan chicken had more round shapes.Sanhuang chicken,Xiayan chicken and Donglan black chicken had significantly less skin pores than Lingshan native chicken(P < 0.05).The results of body mearurements showed that:The variation coefficients of all body mearurements indexes of the four breeds are less than 10,which showed that all of the breeds had better homogeneity in body size.The chestwidth,body oblique length and tibia Length of Xiayan chicken were significantly longer than the other four chickens Breeds(P<0.05).There was no significant difference between Donglan black bone chicken,Lingshan native chicken and Xiayan chicken in shank circumference and length(P > 0.05).Sanhuang chicken had significantly larger shin circumference than the other breeds(P<0.05).The results of carcass traits showed that:The body weight,slaughter weight and full bore weight of Lingshanpartridgeand Xiayan chicken were significantly higher than Sanhuang chicken and Donglan black bone chicken(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference compared with Lingshan partridge.Xiayan chicken and Lingshan partridge had significantly higher weight in chest muscle and leg muscle than the other breeds(P < 0.05).The abdominal fat rate of Donglan black chicken was significantly lower than that of the other breeds(P <0.05).The results of egg quality analysis showed that:The egg weight,yolk weight and shell weight of Xiayan chicken and Lingshan partridge were significantly higher than the remaining breeds(P < 0.05);the total amino acid content and total protein content of Lingshan indigenous breeds produced more protein and total amino acid,which were significantly higher than the other breeds(P < 0.05);Lingshan partridge had the lowest content of fat and cholesterol,followed by Xiayan chicken.The egg shape indexs of four kinds of eggs were about 1.3,which indicated that the egg shape index is better.Conclusion: In this study,the carcass appearance,body size,carcass traits,and egg qualitys of four indigenous chicken breeds in Guangxi were analyzed systematically.The results of this study provide an important theoretical basisand technical support for the development of chicken breeds suitable for slaughtering and processing.
