Research On Virtual Cultivated Land Of Guangdong Province Under The Background Of Food Security In The New Era

Food security is related to national economy and people's livelihood and has always been a top priority for governing the country.As socialism with Chinese characteristics enters a new era,the major contradictions in our society have changed,and new requirements and tasks have been put forward for food security.With the gradual improvement of people's living standard,the consumption structure of agricultural products required for diet has also changed.Under the new requirements of the new era,there is an urgent need to explore how to coordinate the supply and demand balance of the agricultural products required by the diet of residents.In this study,Guangdong Province was selected as the study area.It is the largest food importing province and the province with the largest permanent population in China.By introducing the concept of virtual cultivated land,different types of agricultural products that could not be directly summed up in quantity were effectively summarized and their quantity and structural changes were analyzed.In this paper,in the 21 st century since the 2000-2018 as the research period,and uses statistical analysis from the perspective of the production,consumption,and trade of four major agricultural products: food crops,cash crops,meat,eggs,milk products,and processed products required by residents.The statistical analysis method and comparative analysis method were used to analyze the consumption quantity and structural change of virtual cultivated land in the above three links.In addition,the difference between the consumption and production of virtual cultivated land of agricultural products is calculated,that is,the production and consumption profit and loss of virtual cultivated land.The calculation of the proportion of net import volume in the consumption volume and the dependence of consumption on foreign import in guangdong province are of great practical significance to the exploration and optimization of the rational utilization of cultivated land resources in guangdong province and the guarantee of food security.The main conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)Through the calculation of the content of virtual cultivated land of agricultural products in guangdong province,it is concluded that the agricultural products with low content of virtual cultivated land have stronger comparative advantages in trade and should be produced and exported as much as possible,such as rice and aquatic products.etc.(2)Based on the analysis of the use of virtual cultivated land in Guangdong Province from the perspective of agricultural product production:(1)The results of virtual cultivated land consumption measured from the perspective of the initial agricultural product and the final agricultural product are different,and the former is less than the latter;(2)The amount of virtual cultivated land implied by agricultural products produced in the province far exceeds the amount of cultivated land held in the province,indicating that Guangdong Province has produced excess agricultural products with limited physical cultivated land,which reflects the higher output efficiency of cultivated land.(3)Based on the analysis of the demand for virtual cultivated land in Guangdong Province from the perspective of agricultural product consumption,it is concluded that:(1)The consumption difference between urban residents and rural residents is obvious,urban residents meat,eggs and milk virtual cultivated land consumption proportion is large,rural residents food virtual cultivated land consumption proportion is large,the province residents actual consumption of agricultural products virtual cultivated land total demand increased year by year;(2)The calculation of the profit and loss of virtual cultivated land production and consumption,when compared with the virtual cultivated land consumption of the initial production of agricultural products,the virtual cultivated land consumption is greater than the production volume;when compared with the virtual cultivated land consumption of the final agricultural products,the production volume can basically meet consumer demand.(4)Based on the analysis of the flow of virtual cultivated land in Guangdong Province from the perspective of agricultural product trade:(1)The amount of virtual cultivated land imports in Guangdong far exceeds the amount of virtual cultivated land exports.Among them,the largest amount of imported virtual cultivated land is soybeans,and the largest export of virtual cultivated land is aquatic products;(2)Guangdong province's virtual cultivated land of major agricultural products has a high degree of dependence on foreign countries and is relatively concentrated in American countries.It needs to be taken seriously,the scale of imported varieties must be strictly controlled,and channels of import sources must be appropriately opened to diversify trade risks.
