In this paper,Malus Pumila and Potato intercropping system in wind sandy land of Northwestern Liaoning Province was taken as the research object, and the Malus Purmila mono cropping system and Potato monocropping system was used as the control. The growth characteristics of growth indicators, and the spatial distribution of soil nutrients and its effects were analyzed in the Malus Pumila mono cropping system and Sweet Potato intercropping system. It provided scientific basis for the sustainable management of agroforestry system in this region. The main research conclusions were as follows:Compared with Malus Pumila monocropping system:the plant height, stem thickness, new shoot growth and yield of Malus Pumila were reduced in the Mains Pumila and Sweet Potato intercropping system and the degree of influence in turn was plant height>stem thickness>new shoot growt>yield.Compared with Sweet Potato monocropping system, the plant height, stem thickness, and yield of sweet potato decreased in the Malus Pumila and Sweet Potato intercropping system, and the degree of influence in tum was yield>plant height>stem thickness. The farther away from the Malus Pumila, the smaller the impact of the intercropping system on the Sweet Potato. The influence of Malus Pumila on Sweet Potato was mainly distributed within 2.0 m in the Malus Purmila and Sweet Potato intercropping system.Intercropping systems could effectively improve land use efficiency. The contents of soil organic matter, total nitrogen, total phosphorus, total potassium, hydrolyzable nitrogen, available phosphorus, and available potassium decreased with the extension of planting time in the Malus Pumila and Sweet Potato intercropping system, and the spatial variability of soil nutrient indicators was moderate or strong With the increase of soil depth, the soil nutrient index showed a decreasing trend. The horizontal distribution characteristics of each soil nutrient index were different, but generally it was low in the horizontal distance of 0-100 cm:and some indicators were highly competitive in the horizontal distance of 0-25 cm.The content of soil organic matter, total nitrogen, total potassium and hydrolyzable nitrogen in the same soil layer were significant difference in June,July,Augusta, and September in the Malus Pumila and Potato intercropping system(P<0.05).The soil organic matter, total phosphorus, total potassium, drolyzable nitrogen, and available phosphorus showed negative effects, while the total nitrogen and available potassium showed positive effects. The content of soil organic matter and total potassium had significant effects on the system yield of the Malus Pumila and Sweet Potato intercropping system.Soil nutrients were divided into three categories according to the depth of soil layer and horizontal distance, there were significant differences in the soil nutrient indexes of different soil depths, and there were significant differences in the soil organic matter, total nitrogen, total phosphorus, total pot assium, allkali hydrolyzed nitrogen and available potassium at different time periods;the interaction between time periods and soil depth has a negligible impact on the soil nutrient indexes.
