The research was designed to study the effects of feed restriction on growth performance, serum biochemical indexes, carcass traits and meat quality of fattening pigs, for the different feeding levels and addition 20% fermented Broussonetia papyrifera leaves to the diet.To explore the ideal level of feed restriction, produce high quality pork, and provide the basis for the development of new green functional protein source feed and maximization of economic benefits.Part 1: The Effect of feed restriction on growth performance and serum biochemical indices of Fattening PigsIn this study,56 pigs with similar age, body weight about 60 kg and healthy were selected and randomly divided into 4 groups,14 repetitions for each group,1 pig for one repetition.Treatment pigs were divided into 4 groups according to the feed restriction level. The 4 test groups were control group that feeding 100% basal diet, group A is restricted 5% basal diet, group B is restricted 10% basal diet, group C is restricted 15% basal diet. The daily intake was calculated according to the previous day's body weight and daily intake. At the last day, these pigs were salaughtered for the collection of blood and tissues. The results are as following:1)Compared to the control group,The growth performance of fattening pigs in group A had no significant effect(P>0.05),the ADG and ADFI of fattening pigs in group B were significantly reduced by 13.75% and 8.99%(P<0.05),and the ADG and ADFI of fattening pigs in group C were significantly reduced by 15.00% and 16.48%(P<0.05).2)Compared to the control group,ALT,TG and HDL levels in fattening pigs were not significantly affected by different restrictions level(P>0.05).Group A significantly reduced the serum TC,BUN,LDL content(P<0.05),and significantly increased the serum GLU content(P<0.05).Group B significantly reduced serum TC and LDL levels(P<0.05),and significantly increased serum BUN content(P<0.05).Group C significantly reduced serum TP,GLU,and LDL levels(P<0.05),and significantly increased serum CREA level s(P<0.05).On the basis of economic benefit, feed restriction was not suitable for the growth of fattening pigs, but when the restricted feeding level was 5%,the serum total cholesterol and low density lipoprotein were significantly reduced and the blood lipid metabolism was regulated.Part 2: The Effect of fermented Broussonetia papyrifera leaves on growth performance, serum biochemical indices, carcass traits and meat quality of Fattening PigsA single factor completely random experiment was introduced to this experiment. In this study,28 pigs with similar age, body weight about 108 kg and healthy were selected and randomly divided into 2 groups,14 repetitions for each group,1 pig for one repetition. The feeding system was fixed in the feeding column. They were divided into control group(feeding 100% basic diet)and experimental group(feeding 20% fermented Broussonetia papyrifera leaves + 80% basic diet). At the last day, these pigs were salaughtered for the collection of blood and tissues. The results are as following:1)Compared to the control group, the experimental group had no significant effect on ADG,ADFI,and F/G of fattening pigs(P>0.05),that is,no significant effect on the growth performance of fattening pigs.1)Compared to the control group, the experimental group had no significant effect on ADG,ADFI,and F/G of fattening pigs(P>0.05),that is,no significant effect on the growth performance of fattening pigs.3)Compared to the control group, there was no significant difference in the slaughter rate of fattening pigs in the experimental group(P>0.05),and the backfat thickness was significantly decreased(P<0.05).Therefore,fermented Broussonetia papyrifera leaves could improve carcass traits of fattening pigs.3)Compared to the control group, there was no significant difference in the slaughter rate of fattening pigs in the experimental group(P>0.05),and the backfat thickness was significantly decreased(P<0.05).Therefore,fermented Broussonetia papyrifera leaves could improve carcass traits of fattening pigs. The results showed that the addition of fermented Broussonetia papyrifera leaves had no significant effect on the growth performance of fattening pigs, but improved the carcass traits and meat quality.
