It was reviewed in the paper that influence of phytosterols on growth performance, serum hormones, carcass composition, meat quality, antioxidation in plasma, the serum biochemical indexes and lipoprotein cholesterol concentration in serum of fattening pigs. The phytosterol was evaluated and discussed comprehensively by this experiment so that we can Determine it’s best additives in daily ration of fattening pigs. This experiment will provide more information for the feed industry and livestock production. Then it will promote the progress of science and technology and our livestock feed to ensure feed safety and improve the economic benefits of animal production.120fattening pigs that was similar day age and about50kg each one were selected to divided randomly into4groups, each group with3replicates,each replicate with10pig.we set out a control group at the same time. The breeding test was carried out through the rations to which0ppm,50ppm,100ppm,150ppm and200ppm phytosterol was added respectivelyThe results indicated that:(1) the growth performance:phytosterol as new type of feed additives used in the fattening pig daily diet has improving its growth performance trend.①Improving the final body weight. The group with150ppm phytosterol has best effect, but compared with the group with200ppm phytostero, it’s not significant (P>0.05).②Improving average feed intake. The group with150ppm phytosterol has best effect.③Improving average daily gain. The group with200ppm phytosterol has best effect.④Lowering the feed weight ratio. The minimum feed weight ratio is the group with200ppm phytosterol.(2) carcass composition:phytosterol can improve fattening pigs’carcass and has a trend that it can significantly increase the fattening pigs’lean meat percentage (P>0.05)(3) meat quality:though different additive phytosterols have no significant effect on fleshclolor, Water holding capacity, tenderness, variegated glass and diameter of muscle fiber (P>0.05), compared with the control group, the group with150ppm phytosterol can make muscle tissue contain less fat between the muscle significantly (P<0.05). To a certain extent, the pork quality was improved.(4) antioxidation in plasma:phytosterol can greatly improve the activity of MnSOD, the ability of the fattening pigs eliminating oxygen free radicals, the ability to protect cells against damage of reactive oxygen species (P<0.05).The results showed that, the activity of MnSOD was influenced by the group with150ppm phytosterol most significantly (P<0.05) phytosterols have no significant influence for the activity of T-SOD and GSH-PX and the level of MDA (P>0.05)(5) the serum biochemical indexes:phytosterols have no significant influence for the level of Alb (P>0.05),but it can improve the level of Glo and the ratio of A/G And, to a certain extent, the immunity of fattening pigs was improved.(6) lipoprotein cholesterol concentration in serum:phytosterols and stanols can reduce the level of TC and LDL-C1, but do not affect the level of HDL-C and TG. The level of TC and LDL-C was reduced by the group with150ppm and200ppm phytosterol most significantly (P<0.05)...
