Study On The Relationship Between Serum FGF21, Adiponectin And Type 2 Diabetes Carotid Atherosclerosis

Objective:We aimed to explore the relationship between serum FGF21,adiponectin and type 2diabetes mellitus and their combined carotid atherosclerosis,and the correlation between the two factors.Methods:Selected 93 cases of subjects,including normal control group(NC)27 cases,and diabetes can be divided into according to the results of the neck vascular ultrasound T2 DM group(27 cases),with T2 DM and carotid atherosclerotic lesions(39 cases).The serum FGF21 and adiponectin levels were detected by enzymo-linked immunosorbent assay,and the results were compared between the three groups.The correlation between FGF21 and blood glucose,blood lipids,adiponectin and other clinical indicators was analyzed.Results:The serum FGF21 levels in the three groups of normal control group,pure T2 DM group and diabetic carotid atherosclerosis were gradually increasing.Serum adiponectin levels declined in turn.Correlation regression analysis showed that serum FGF21 was positively correlated with age,fasting blood glucose and triglyceride(r=0.287,0.342,0.427)and negatively correlated with HDL and adiponectin levels(r=-0.294,-0.366).Serum adiponectin was negatively correlated with age,body mass index,systolic blood pressure,fasting blood glucose,triglyceride and FGF21(r=-0.226,-0.457,-0.295,-0.377,-0.468,-0.366),and positively correlated with HDL level(r=0.420).Logistic regression analysis found that age and low adiponectin were risk factors for carotid atherosclerosis in diabetes.Conclusion:Serum FGF21 and adiponectin may be involved in the pathogenesis and progression of diabetes and its major vascular complications,and there is a certain correlation with them.Further study on the mechanism of their function have great significance for the prediction and treatment of type 2 diabetes and its complications.
