Clinical Reasearch On Suspended Moxibustion Of Governor Meridian Combined With Acupuncture For Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Due To Yang Deficiency

ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical effect of the suspended moxibustion of governor meridian combined with acupuncture for chronic fatigue syndrome(CFS)due to Yang-deficiency,which can provide a safe,simple treatment method with high curative effect and the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine.MethodsAccording to the diagnostic criteria of chronic fatigue syndrome due to Yang-deficiency,and the inclusion and exclusion criteria,90 Patients of the Acupuncture and Moxibustion Department were recruited.Then,we adopted randomized controlled trial and randomly divided 90 patients into treatment group(suspended moxibustion of governor meridian combined with acupuncture group),control group 1(suspended moxibustion of governor meridian group)and control group 2(acupuncture group)according to the ratio of 1: 1: 1.The patients were treated 2 times a week for 4 weeks,while the symptom score,Fatigue Scale(FS)-14 and Fatigue Assessment Scale Integral(FAI)were used to evaluate the degree of fatigue of three groups before and after treatment,and then,evaluated the therapeutic effect.ResultsThis study involved 90 patients,2 shedding cases.The factual cases included 28 patients of the suspended moxibustion of governor meridian combined with acupuncture group,while the suspended moxibustion of governor meridian group and the acupuncture group have 30 cases of patients each.The general information(include gender,age,educational level,occupation,marital status)of 3 groups were compared,and there was not statistically significant(p>0.05)between 3 groups.The symptom score,Fatigue Scale(FS)-14 points(include total fatigue scale score,somatic fatigue score,and mental fatigue score)and Fatigue Assessment Scale Integral of 3 groups were compared before the treatment,and there was not statistically significant(p > 0.05)between the 3 groups.It showed that there was a comparability between the 3 groups.After four weeks of the treatment,the overall clinical efficacy of the 3 groups,the suspended moxibustion of governor meridian combined with acupuncture group’s total effective rate was 92.86%.The total effective rate of the suspended moxibustion of governor meridian group was 86.67%.The total effective rate of the acupuncture group was 83.33%.After statistical analysis,there was statistically significant difference(P<0.05)between 3 groups.Comparison between groups found that there was statistically significant difference(P<0.05)between the suspended moxibustion of governor meridian combined with acupuncture group and the other groups,and there was not statistically significant(p>0.05)between the suspended moxibustion of governor meridian group and the acupuncture group.Also,the comparison of the symptom score,Fatigue Scale(FS)-14 points(include total fatigue scale score,somatic fatigue score,and mental fatigue score)and Fatigue Assessment Scale Integral of 3 groups after treatment showed that there was statistically significant difference(P<0.05)between the suspended moxibustion of governor meridian combined with acupuncture group and the other two groups,and there was not statistically significant(p>0.05)between the suspended moxibustion of governor meridian group and the acupuncture group.Before and after the treatment,The difference between the compared intra-groups of the symptom score,Fatigue Scale(FS)-14 points(include total fatigue scale score,somatic fatigue score,and mental fatigue score)and Fatigue Assessment Scale Integral points had statistical significance(P<0.05).ConclusionThe clinical treatments of the suspended moxibustion of governor meridian combined with acupuncture group,suspended moxibustion of governor meridian group and acupuncture group to chronic fatigue syndrome due to Yang-deficiency are all useful.And,the effect of the suspended moxibustion of governor meridian combined with acupuncture therapy is better than the suspended moxibustion of governor meridian therapy and the acupuncture therapy in improving the clinical syndrome and chronic fatigue(include somatic fatigue and mental fatigue)of chronic fatigue syndrome patients.The suspended moxibustion of governor meridian therapy and acupuncture therapy have the same clinical effect in improving the clinical syndrome and chronic fatigue(include somatic fatigue and mental fatigue)of chronic fatigue syndrome patients.
