The Research On The Laws Of Headache Treating In Traditional Chinese Medicine Based On Ancient Literature Mining

Objective: Retrieve the prescriptions for headache treatment from ancient literature and screen the prescriptions for the treatment of different types of headache,and then analyze the laws of medicine using separately to enrich and expand the theory of traditional Chinese medicine in headache treating and provide the basis and reference for drug use in clinical practice.Methods: In this study,we search out 939 medical books on headache treating with the aid of the "Chinese medical classics" series of electronic and by retrieving medical books from the pre Qin period to the end of the Qing Dynasty by manual searching.After making a List of the bibliographies,we looked up and excerpted the related prescriptions for for oral administration for a grand total of 1347 prescriptions and 322 herbs.Taking them as objects of research,we gave normalized treatment on related herbs and input data using the Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)Inheritance Support System.With the help of the software,we conducted data processing and analysis of statistical and finally Summing up the laws and got new prescriptions.Results: In this study,we totally excerpted 1347 ancient prescriptions for oral administration on headache treating,involving 322 herbs.The powder,decoction and pill were most commonly used in selected prescriptions,the most commonly used Chinese medicine was herbal medicine,and the top 10 herbs were as follows: Gancao,Shengjiang,Chuanxiong,Shigao,Fangfeng,Huangqin,Fuling,Renshen,Banxia and Mahuang.The most flexible compatibility was the heat-clearing herbs,the tonic herbs and the relieving herbs.The most frequently used herbs were the temperature herbs and the cold herbs and the compatibility of pungency,sweetness and bitterness was most widely used.The most widely used were lung meridian,spleen meridian and stomach meridian.The analysis showed that the most commonly used herbs combinations were Gancao,Shengjiang and Chuanxiong,then the most commonly effects combinations were the relieving herbs combined with blood-activiating and stasis-dissolving drugs,the relieving herbs combined with the relieving herbs,the relieving herbs combined with the tonic herbs and the relieving herbs combined with the heat-clearing herbs.Some herbs were commonly used for the treatment of special headache,such as Gancao,Chuanxiong,Tea,Shigao,Zhishi,Qianghuo,Shengjiang,Xixin,wine,Fangfeng for long course of disease;Gancao,Shengjiang,Chuanxiong,Tea,Shigao,wine,Danggui,Congbai,Chenpi,Banxia for serious conditions;Gancao,Renshen,Chenpi,Banxia,Jiegeng,Zhimu,Huangqin,Zisu,Chaihu,Shengjiang for mild conditions;the Heixi powder for unendurable headache;Chuanxiong,Tea,Gancao,Fangfeng,Xixin,Baizhi,Jingjie,Tiannanxing,Tianma,Qianghuo,Shigao,Juhua,Shengjiang,Chuanwu,Bohe for lateral headache;Chuanxiong,Dazao,Banxia,Gancao,Shengjiang,Baizhi for headache of spasm;Gancao,Shengjiang,Fangfeng,Chuanxiong,Qianghuo,Huangqin,Zhishi,Guizhi for pain of head and neck;Gancao,Shengjiang,Chuanxiong,Fangfeng,Huangqin,Shigao,Renshen,Fuling,Xixin for pain in the supra-orbital bone;Chuanxiong,Gancao,Fangfeng,Tea,Bohe,Tianma,Huangqin,Jingjie,Baizhi for the pain of the top of head;Chuanxiong,Gancao,Bohe,Baizhi for temples pain.Conclusion: Through the analysis and mining of ancient prescriptions for oral administration on headache treating,we can summed the thoughts and laws of headache treating in TCM of ancient medical workers.They pay attention to the compatibility and application of heat-clearing drugs,expectorant drugs,tonic drugs and blood activating drugs.At the same time,they also attached importance to the effect of dispelling wind drugs and guiding drugs.Chuanxiong was a very important drug for the treatment of headache.It was particularly important to recuperate the spleen and stomach.We also summed the laws of drug use by analyzing prescriptions for special headache,finding out that most of long course of disease was excess syndrome and we the method of reducing the excessive was attached much weight.Most of serious conditions indicated excessive pathogenesis,so drugs with strong efficacy should be given.In contrary,mild conditions often indicated deficiency syndrome and the methods of replenishing the deficient should be chosen.The most important thing for eunendurable headache was saving life and for anxious and painful headache that was eliminating pathogen and using sedative drugs.For the headaches in different parts(lateral headache,pain of neck and head,pain in the supra-orbital bone,the pain of the top of head,temples pain and headache of syndrome-different of the six meridians),eliminating pathogen and drugs with some guiding role should be paid attention to.
