Vertigo is a kind of common clinical disease which is characteristic of multiplicity,difficulty and interdiscipline.Its clinical symptoms mainly include dizziness.Because of its complicated clinical symptoms and causes,it has been a confused problem for diagnosis and treatment.Diagnosis and treatment of TCM has a long history and remarkable curative effect.On the basis of previous experience,Professor Zhang Huailiang has developed a unique experience in vertigo diagnosis and treatment after many years of clinical practice.Firstly,to aim at laying a theoretical foundation for further research.this paper collects and collates relevant literatures about vertigo in ancient and modern times,analyzes and summarizes them.Then through the repeated analysis and summary of the relevant academic works,academic lecture and medical instance of Professor Zhang Huailiang,at the same time,by means of learning from the outpatient,consulting with the mentor and communicating with each other,so as to further understand the thought and academic characteristics of the tutor.In the end,to summarize theoretical foundation,etiology and pathogenesis,differentiation of symptoms and signs for classification of syndrome,prescription medication,according to the treatment experience for vertigo from liver.In order to get the academic experience of Professor Zhang Huailiang.This paper illustrates the topic from the following six aspects: the first part:the definition of vertigo and the historical evolution of the disease name;the second part:trace the source of treating vertigo from liver;the third part: Professor Zhang Huailiang's understanding of the etiology and pathogenesis of vertigo: 1.theory of pathogenesis from liver,also not only responsibility in the liver;2.the discussion ofthe relationship between liver and wind,fire,phlegm or blood stasis;the fourth part:Professor Zhang Huailiang's syndrome differentiation and classification of vertigo from liver theory;the fifth part: clinical essentials: 1.pay attention to the concept of holism;2.take the liver as the core,take into account an alternative approach;3.identify the course of the disease,weigh specimens priorities;4.focus on the treatment of liver deficiency;5.drug characteristics;6.pay attention to conditioning,avoid recurrence;7.combine traditional Chinese and western medicine,identify prognosis;the sixth part: case analysis.Through this study,we can know that Professor Zhang Huailiang has an open mind and unique experience in the treatment and prevention of vertigo by TCM,To summarize the valuable clinical experience and academic thoughts,then sublimate to the height of theory for the benefit of inheriting and developing,at last to use them to guide clinical practice and improve the therapeutic effect of vertigo.
