Objective: to retrospectively analyze the correlation between serum LDH level and tumor progression characteristics in patients with colorectal cancer(CRC)before treatment, and to evaluate the value of LDH level in evaluating the progression of colorectal cancer. Methods: to collect the pre-treatment LDH,CEA level and related diagnostic data of 62 patients with colorectal cancer treated in our hospital from January 2016 to January 2017.In addition,67 healthy subjects were selected as control group. The differences between the two groups of LDH and CEA were compared, and the correlation between the occurrence of distant metastases and the presence of tumor was observed. Results: serum LDH and CEA levels in CRC group were higher than those in healthy control group. The difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).With the progression of tumor staging, the serum LDH level of CRC patients in the advanced stage(when distant metastasis)was significantly higher than that in the advanced CRC patients, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).There was no significant change in LDH levels in the TME stage(stage I,II and III),and the difference was not significant(P > 0.05).Conclusion: Serum LDH level can be used as a clinical reference index to evaluate the distant metastasis of colorectal cancer.
