Objective: In this study,we analyzed the level changes IL-33 in serum and gingival crevicular fluid before and after the basic periodontal therapy of the patients, who have developed chronic periodontitis complicated with coronary heart disease and patients with periodontitis.Analyze the correlation and influencing factors between periodontitis and coronary heart disease. To provide some theoretical basis and experimental evidence for the future treatment or prevention of periodontitis and coronary heart disease. Methods: Thirty patients with chronic periodontitis(CP)accompanied by coronary heart disease(CHD)were randomly divided into two groups: group A(15 cases)received basic periodontal therapy and cardiology treatment;group B(15 cases),only received cardiological treatment.Group C(20 cases),patients with chronic periodontitis(no coronary heart disease)were selected and received periodontal basic treatment.Group D(20 cases),no coronary heart disease and periodontal, without any treatment. All subjects’ sera and gingival crevicular fluid(GCF)were collected and assayed for IL-33 content. The existing clinical periodontal indicators, including the attachment loss, probing depth and bleeding index were examined and recorded. The above data were taken as the baseline.Periodontal basal therapy was performed in group A and group C.The periodontal basic treatment was performed two months later.Detection periodontal clinical parameters(BI,PD,AL)and the levels of IL-33 in serum and GCF.Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbnent Assay(ELISA)was used to detect the content of IL-33 in GCF and serum. All data were statistically analyzed by statistical software(SPASS 20.0).Results:1.The PD,AL,BI and levels of IL-33 in serum and GCF of group A,B,and C were significantly higher than group D before basic periodontal therapy, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).There was no significant difference in PD,AL,and BI between group A and group C before basic periodontal treatment. The level of IL-33 in serum and GCF was higher in group A than in group C(P<0.05).There was no significant difference between the data of group A and group B before basic periodontal treatment(P>0.05).2.The PD,AL,BI and levels of IL-33 in serum and GCF of group A were higher than that of group B after the basic periodontal therapy, the difference was statistically significant(P <0.01).The PD,AL,BI and levels of IL-33 in serum and GCF of group A and group C after the basic periodontal therapy were significantly lower than those before periodontal treatment in both groups(P <0.01).Conclusions:Periodontal treatment can reduce the level of IL-33 in serum and GCF while improving periodontal status, which is beneficial to the prevention and treatment of coronary heart disease.
