ObjectiveThe aim is to analyze the relation of in the LF and MDA and various periodontal indicators in the gingival crevicular fluid and to explore the role of the LF and MDA in the development of chronic periodontitis through the detection to lactoferrin and malondialdehyde in gingival crevicular fluid of the gingival health groups and chronic periodontitis groups before and after non-surgical treatment. And the result will provide new ideas for the diagnosis and treatment of chronic periodontitis.MethodsSubject selection: 17 subjects with chronic periodontitis and 20 periodontal health subjects from 2016.04 to 2016.08 who were received in our hospital and were willing to participate in this study. In this study moisture absorption paper points was used to collect and store the gingival crevicular fluid of the selected teeth. Then the gingival index of each periodontal sites and explore the depth and attachment loss after sampling were recorded.Oral health guidance and periodontal basic treatment such as whole mouth clean shave cure were given to patients of chronic periodontitis group.Gingival crevicular fluid was collected and periodontal clinical indicators were recorded in the same periodontal sites after 4 weeks.Once the whole sample collection was over,we used enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)to test the level of LF in gingival crevicular liquid and thiobarbituric acid method to test theMDA in the gingival crevicular liquid.Parametric test was used for statistical analysis by SPSS.21.Results1,LF and MDA's level in chronic periodontitis group are significantly higher than those in healthy group in GCF.After basic periodontal treatment, the quantity of LF and MDA were significantly lower in chronic periodontitis group in GCF.The difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).2,The amount of GCF of patients with chronic periodontitis and the value of periodontal clinical indicators such as GI and PD,AL were significantly higher than those of healthy group. After periodontal basic treatment, the amount of GCF of patients with chronic periodontitis and the value of periodontal clinical index such as GI,PD and AL were significantly lower. The difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).3 Before and after the periodontal basic treatment,in chronic periodontitis group, there is a statistically correlation between LF,MDA in GCF and periodontal clinical index such as GI?PD?AL,LF and MDA,GCF and PD.(P < 0.05).Conclusions1,Volume of gingival crevicular fluid increased significantly in chronic periodontitis group, which proved it toserve as a reference index of the periodontal disease extent.2,The amount of LF and MDA in the gingival cervicular fluid of chronic periodontitis group is significantly higher than those of the control group. The two factors played a prominent role in the occurrence and development of chronic periodontitis, which can be used as a biological indicator of the diagnosis of chronic periodontitis.3,After periodontal basic treatment of chronic periodontitis group,LF and MDA in gingival cervicular liquid were significantly lower compared with those before treatment. And the drop out level is consistent with the degree of ease of periodontal inflammation. Therefore,it can be used as a biological marker for therapeutic effect evaluation after the periodontal basic treatment of chronic periodontitis group.
