ObjectiveInvestigate the correlation between serum HE4 level before treatment and PFS(progression-free survival)after treatment, and the correlation between serum CA125 level before treatment and PFS(progression-free survival)after treatment in patients with epithelial ovarian cancer.Explore whether the preoperative HE4 level and CA125 level can be used to predict PFS in patients with epithelial ovarian cancer.Determine the relationship between the changes of two tumor markers and the progression of disease after operation.MethodsRetrospective analysis of 31 patients with epithelial ovarian cancer who were treated at Shanghai Oriental Hospital from January 1,2016 to December 31,2018.Pre-treatment serum HE4 levels, serum CA125 levels, and postoperative serum HE4 were obtained from the medical records.Serum CA125 levels.According to the patient's PFS time,Patients were divided into patients with PFS < 6 months, patients with PFS < 12 months and patients with PFS ?12 months. The measurement data is expressed in the form of mean(x?)± standard deviation(s),the count data is described using the composition ratio or the interquartile range, and the measurement data is compared using the t test.If the variance of the continuous variables is not uniform, the nonparametric test is used, and the count data is compared with the chi-square test.Results1.There was no significant difference in serum HE4 level and serum CA125 level between different PFS groups before treatment(P>0.05).2.There was a correlation between serum HE4 and CA125 in different PFS groups during the course of 3 courses of chemotherapy.Serum HE4 levels were statistically significant between the 1st and 2nd courses of chemotherapy and PFS(P<0.05),indicating that patients with serum HE4 levels who fell to normal before 2-course chemotherapy after surgery had longer PFS than those who had normal after 2-course chemotherapy.Serum CA125 levels were statistically significant between the negative and PFS after 3-way chemotherapy(P<0.05),indicating that patients with serum CA125 levels who fell to normal before 3-course chemotherapy after surgery had longer PFS than those who had normal after 3-course chemotherapy.ConclusionPFS(progression-free survival)in patients with epithelial ovarian cancer is not correlated with serum HE4 level and serum CA125 level before treatment.Postoperative serum HE4 and CA125 have a correlation with PFS,which can predict the PFS of patients, and the PFS of patients with 2-3 courses of chemotherapy is longer.
