Objective:This study was to investigate the value of preoperative peripheral blood circulating tumor cells in predicting prognosis in patients with ovarian cancer.Method:We searched for related comparative studies published in the PubMed,CNKI and Wan Fang Data databases(updated to December 2018),papers in English and Chinese.Quality of included studies was assessed according to Newcastle-Ottawa Scale(NOS).The hazard ratio(HR)and its 95%confidence interval(95%CI)effect were combined.Data analysis was performed using Stata12.0 software.Result:Eight studies of 738 patients were included in the final analysis.234 and 504 patients with positive and negative CTC,respectively. The meta-analysis showed that patients with CTC-positive had significant shorter OS(HR=1.86,95%CI:1.47-2.35,I2=9%,p<0.001)and PFS(HR=1.50,95%CI:1.06-2.12,I2=0%,p=0.022).Conclusion:Patients with ovarian cancer with CTC in peripheral blood before surgery had overall survival and progression-free survival shorter than those with negative CTC,indicating that CTC is a negative factor in theprognosis of ovarian cancer. It provides a certain degree of guiding significance for the treatment of patients with ovarian cancer.
