ObjectiveThe repeated respiratory tract infection(RRTI)is a common respiratory disease in children, which have a serious impact on the lives and learning of children.Modern medicine has not yet found a definitive curative treatment.Understanding of this disease by Chinese medicine has become more in-depth and comprehensive in recent years,Professor Li Yirui have diagnosis and treatment of the disease for many years, and the curative effect is satisfactory. This study conducted the data mining on the case of Professor Li Yirui for the diagnosis and treatment of children's repeated respiratory tract infection, which summed up the dialectical thinking and drug administration law, that had provided ideas and references for the scientific research and clinical work of TCM syndrome differentiation and treatment of RRTI.MethodsEighty-eight medical visits of sixty patients that with non-acute RRTI treated by Prof.Li Yirui was collected, and the data was entered into Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance Support System(V2.5).Descriptive statistics of the age, distribution, clinical symptoms, and signs of the children, and make the frequency statistical analysis of the four-qi,five-flavor,channel distributions and use frequency of the drug, analysis of common combinations and relationships of drugs that based on the association rules and improved mutual information methods, based on the entropy clustering of complex system and unsupervised entropy, hierarchical clustering algorithm to excavate the new square,at last, combined with the clinical results of further discussion.Results(1)A total of 88 clinical data of 60 children were analyzed, including 46 males and 42 females, ranging in age from 2 to 9 years,of whom 2 to 6 years old accounted for 81.82%.(2)The top 10 symptoms respectively are sputum, cough, ozoshtomia, night sweating, sneezing, runny nose, dry stool, spontaneous perspiration, nasal congestion and rhinocnesmus. The texture of nasal discharge is dominated by watery rhinorrhea, and sputum are white and sticky. The tongue of children was mainly reddish with sharp red, followed by pale red tongue;coating on the tongue mainly manifest as thin white coating, white thick fur,and thin yellowish moss.(3)Lung-spleen qi deficiency and syndrome of lingering pathogen due to deficient vital qi are the main TCM syndromes, respectively including 24 cases accounted for 27.27%and 23 cases for 26.14%,followed by other syndromes of dampness-heat due to spleen deficiency, deficiency of both qi and yin, anorexia, uncleared evidence of Yu Qi,phlegm-dampness due to spleen deficiency, splenasthenic syndrome, damp abundance due to splenic asthenia, dysfunction in transport due to spleen deficiency, both the lung and the kidney syndrome, and finally syndrome of deficiency of lung yin.(4)The four properties in traditional Chinese medicine have the highest proportion of warm(42.06%)and flat(39.15%)drugs,and the five flavors are sweet(542 times),pungent(366 times)and bitter(365 times). The classics of Chinese medicine are after(635 frequency),spleen(573 frequency),stomach meridian(485 frequency).(5)The 88 prescriptions used 87 herbs and used more than 30 times(including 30 times)in order of liquorice,Radix Fici Hirtae,Magnolia,Poria,Atractylodes,Radix Pseudostellariae, forsythia, coix seed, radish seed,Radix saposhnikoviae,Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae,Fritillaria thunbergii, angelica dahurica,Gallus gallus,a total of 14.(6)Analysis of the formula of the group was performed, and it was found that when the support number was set to 30,the support 34%and the confidence level 0.8,it comes to three groups of commonly used drug combinations:Radix Saposhnikoviae and Radix Fici Hirtae;angelica dahurica and Magnolia;Radix Pseudostellariae,Atractylodes,Poria, and Radix Fici Hirtae.(7)Setting the correlation degree to 9,the penalty degree to 3,the analysis mining gets 14 core combinations and 7 new prescriptions.Conclusion(1)Professor Li Yirui diagnose and treat children with RRTI based on patterns of deficiency and excess, and valued the lung and spleen, taking lung-spleen qi deficiency and syndrome of lingering pathogen due to deficient vital qi as typical TCM syndromes, taking into account excesses such as the sputum, dampness, heat and stagnation.(2)Professor Li invigorate the lung and spleen chiefly to cure children with RRTI,attaching importance to eliminate external and internal evil with plain drug than too much cold or warm dryness one.She always protect qi and yin of spleen and stomach, which conform to the physiological and pathological characteristics of children and the climate characteristics of the south of the Five Ridges.(3)Professor Li Yirui is fond of using Radix Fici Hirtae and Rtractylodes to invigorate the spleen and lung, poria cocos, coix seed, radix pseudostellariae and so on to nourish spleen yin,Endothelium Corneum Gigeriae Galli and Semen Raphani to invigorating spleen and help to digest, forsythia to clear heat of spleen and stomach.
