Object: To investigate the effects of different causes of liver cirrhosis and its classification and small intestinal bacterial overgrowth(SIBO).Materials and Methods: 106 patients with cirrhosis as the liver cirrhosis group, among them,31 people with alcoholic cirrhosis,75 patients with viral cirrhosis,51 healthy subjects in the same period were used as control group, two groups were tested by lactulose-hydrogen breath test for SIBO,Compare the SIBO positive rates in patients with cirrhosis and different Child-Pugh classification and alcoholic cirrhosis and viral cirrhosis.Result: The positive rate of SIBO in the cirrhosis group(34.9%)was higher than that in the control group(3.9%)(P<0.05);The positive rate of SIBO in the cirrhosis group Child-Pugh grade A,B,and C(8.1%,35.5%,62.9%)increased in turn(P<0.05);There was no significant difference in the positive rate of Child-Pugh grade Alevel SIBO in the cirrhosis group compared with the control group(P>0.05).The SIBO positive rate of Child-Pugh grade B and C was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05);There was no significant difference in SIBO positive rate(38.7%)and viral cirrhosis(33.3%)in patients with alcoholic cirrhosis(P>0.05);There was no significant difference in the positive rate of SIBO between Child-Pugh A,B,and C in patients with alcoholic cirrhosis(10.0%,40.0%,63.6%)and viral cirrhosis that of the similar ChildPugh grade(7.4%,33.3%,62.5%)(P>0.05).Conclusion: The positive rate of SIBO in patients with cirrhosis is significantly higher than that in the normal population.,and the incidence of SIBO increases with the severity of cirrhosis.Different causes have no significant effect on the incidence of SIBO in patients with cirrhosis.
