Clinical Study On The Treatment Of Cold-dampness Type Low-back Pain With Acupoint Catgut Embedding And Grain Sized Moxibustion

ObjectiveClinical study of acupoint catgut embedding and grain sized moxibustion for treating cold-dampness type low-back pain,to compare with electroacupuncture and grain sized moxibustion treatment,providing reference for treating cold-dampness type low-back pain.MethodIn this study,all patients are selected in the first affiliated hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine ’s acupuncture clinic during March 2018 to December 2018,60 patients with cold-dampness type low-back pain were mainly caused by lumbar muscle strain.The SAS statistical analysis software was used to design two randomized groups,which was divided into observation group and control group.The observation group’ s patients were treated with acupoint catgut embedding and grain sized moxibustion for cold and-dampness type low-back pain,and the control group was treated with electroacupuncture and grain sized moxibustion.The criteria for selecting acupoints are based on the principle that the relationship between the bladder meridian,kidney meridian or the Du meridian with the waist,and the spleen and kidney are complementary to each other.The acupoint catgut embedding and electroacupuncture points are selected as:Ming men,Shen shu(bilateral),Qi hai shu(bilateral),Large intestine shu(bilateral),Guan yuan shu(bilateral),Rank side(bilateral),Yin ling quan(bilateral)and Cheng shan(bilateral).The points of the grain sized moxibustion are selected as:Shen shu(bilateral),Large intestine shu(bilateral),Ba liao.The observation group were treated with acupoint catgut embedding and grain sized moxibustion once a week,4 weeks as a course of treatment.The control group were treated with electroacupuncture 3 times in a week,the grain sized moxibustion once a week,a total of 4 weeks treatment,two groups were treated with a course of treatment..Recorded the scores before the treatment started and after finished 4 weeks of treatment,the scores of simplify the McGill Pain Questionaire(SF-MPQ),which including pain rating index(PRI),visual analogue score(VAS)and now pain(PPI),efficacy observation indexes and TCM symptom scale were recorded.The curative effect index of TCM syndrome after treatment was analyzed,and the degree of patients’ improvement was evaluated after the treatment.ResultAfter four weeks of treatment,60 patients with cold-dampness type low-back pain,their symptoms and signs were significantly improved after treatment.In the SF-MPQ,the observation group and the control group were all improved,and the result of observation group was better than the control group(P<0.05);in the efficacy observation indexes,the scores of the two groups before and after treatment were different,but the result of observation group was better than the control group(P<0.05);and the TCM symptom scale,symptoms improved significantly in both groups,and the observation group was better then the other one(P<0.05).The curative effect index of TCM syndromes in the two groups,the total effective rate,the recovery rate and the explicit efficiency in the observation group were better than those in the control group(P<0.05).In conclusion1.Based on the principle that the relationship between the bladder meridian,kidney meridian or the Du meridian with the waist,and the spleen and kidney are complementary to each other,acupoint catgut embedding with grain sized moxibustion and the electroacupuncture with grain sized moxibustion for the treatment of cold-dampness type low-back pain can both alleviate the symptoms and signs.2.Through clinical verification,the clinical treatment of acupoint catgut embedding and grain sized moxibustion treat cold-dampness type low-back pain has obvious curative effect,compared with electroacupuncture and grain sized moxibustion,and the difference is statistically significant.Therefore,the acupoint catgut embedding with grain sized moxibustion for cold and-dampness type low-back pain is worth for further research application.
