ObjectiveComa is a clinical critical illness. With the changes of people’s lifestyle and travel style, the incidence of cerebrovascular accidents caused by cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases or traffic and sports and coma diseases caused by craniocerebral trauma are increasing. At present, there is no effective treatment method for coma patients.Coma patients often need long-term monitoring treatment to maintain their survival. The huge treatment and nursing costs brought by coma patients have brought heavy economic and spiritual burden to patients’ families and society.Fourteen Needles Resuscitating Acupuncture wakefulness are a group of needling methods combined by Wang Xiaoyin, director of GuangDong Second Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, who integrates the key points for resuscitation and the specific key points unique to psychosis. It has the advantages of simple operation, easy popularization and economy for promoting wakefulness in coma. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of Fourteen Needles Resuscitating Acupuncture on coma patients and its influence on vertebrobasilar artery blood flow velocity through quantitative indicators.Methods60 cases were randomly divided into control group and treatment group.Treatment group:on the basis of western medicine’ s symptomatic and supportive treatment of dehydration and intracranial pressure reduction, improvement of brain circulation, nutrition of nerve and maintenance of electrolyte balance,30 cases were treated with Fourteen Needles Resuscitating Acupuncture, mainly selecting acupoints Fengchi(double),Wangu(double),Tianzhu(double),Yifeng(double),Neiguan(double),Baihui,Yamen,Fengfu and Shuigou.Control group:on the basis of western medicine’ s symptomatic and supportive treatment such as dehydration and intracranial pressure reduction, improvement of brain circulation, nutrition of nerve and maintenance of electrolyte balance,30 patients were treated with ordinary acupuncture, with the main points selected:Shuigou,Baihui,Neiguan(double).Treatment was performed 6 days a week, once a day, with needle retention for 20 minutes for 4 weeks.Observation index:GCS score and transcranial Doppler(TCD)average blood flow velocity of vertebrobasilar artery in treatment group and control group were observed before and after treatment,GCS and GOS score were used after treatment, and overall efficacy evaluation and safety evaluation were carried out.The data were analyzed statistically by SPSS23.0 statistical software to analyze the curative effect and blood flow status.ResultsBefore treatment, there was no statistical difference between the two groups in terms of general data such as gender, age, course of disease, disease condition,GCS scale, average velocity of vertebrobasilar ganglion blood flow and other values(P>0.05).After 4 weeks of treatment,GCS and GOS scale scores showed that GCS scores of the treatment group and the control group were improved, but the treatment group was better than the control group in terms of effective rate(P<0.05).However,in terms of recovery rate, the two groups are not obvious(P>0.05).In terms of prognosis, the prognosis of Fourteen Needles Resuscitating Acupuncture is obviously better than that of the control group(P<0.05).In terms of vertebrobasilar artery blood flow velocity, both the treatment group and the control group can improve the average flow velocity of basilar artery, and the treatment group is better than the control group in improving the flow velocity of basilar artery. The treatment group can improve bilateral vertebral artery flow rate, while the control group has no obvious improvement.ConclusionClinical tests show that common acupuncture has certain clinical effects on coma patients, but Fourteen Needles Resuscitating Acupuncture can improve the clinical effects by improving the average velocity of vertebrobasilar artery of patients. It is a safe, economical and convenient clinical operation scheme of traditional Chinese medicine for large-scale promotion.
