| ObjectiveExternal humeral epicondylitis was found by Runger[1]in 1873 for the first time and called it writer’s elbow,and because this disease was common in the tennis players,so it was known as tennis elbow,afterwards,the researchers discovered that the external humeral epicondylitis is also found in table tennis players,badminton players and the people who used to hold the goods hard,such as housework woman,fitter.The research[2]shows that the disease incidence was 1.3%,especially the people who were 44-54 years old,and there is no gender difference;it may be associated with the repetitive,excessive use of elbow joint.External humeral epicondylitis affects forearm rotation movement and makes people hard to lift heavy objects,brings great inconvenience to the work and life,reduces the elderly life quality seriously.There is a variety of traditional Chinese treatment and modern clinical treatment of external humeral epicondylitis,the local injection is one of the most common methods in modern treatment because it is simple and effective rapidly,but occasionally local injection can cause syncope or rash.Acupuncture in recent years gradually push the extensive development at home,and even the world,has the advantages of safety,have curative effect,no side effects,used in the treatment of many diseases in clinic,especially in the treatment of pain syndrome it is recognised by many people.By searching the studies,acupuncture has excellent effect in external humeral epicondylitis.In clinic,cupping,acupuncture,massage,acupuncture point injections are characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine treatment methods.However,there are rare people to use traditional needle technique to arouse the "Qi" to enhance the treatment effect,and the Qing long bai wei treatment as one of the ancient traditional treatment called "Arouse the Qi in the meridians" is able to arouse the "Qi"to cross the joints and run in the meridians,especially good for the disease which caused by the blocked "Qi" in the meridians or joints.This research will compare the curative effect of the Qing long bai wei treatment with the common needling acupuncture,In order to demonstrate that Qing long bai wei treatment can do good to external humeral epicondylitis.Methods1.Clinical data of this study is to follow the principle of rigorous scientific research design,60 patients with external humeral epicondylitis are divided into two groups by the random number table method:Qing long bai wei treatment group and the control group.There are 30 patients in each group,the patients in control group will receive single acupuncture treatment while the patients in Qing long bai wei treatment will receive Qing long bai wei treatment.2.Research methods:two group will adopt acupuncture points according to the national teaching material of "twelfth five-year" plan "acupuncture therapy" in "elbow pain" acupuncture prescription,they are Ashi point,Quchi point(LI 11),Zhouliao point(LI 12),Yanglingquan point(GB 34)and Shousanli point(LI 10)."Better yet,the puncture spots of the Ashi points is 15 millimeters above,we will insert the needle with 0.3 mm x 25 mm disposable needles by oblique needling,the depth of needling is about the needle tip close to the point area,other points will be inserted by routine acupuncture method.In the treatment group,Qing long bai wei treatment will be operated on the Ashi point about 15 seconds,every 10 minutes at a time.The course of treatment will be once a day,a total course is two weeks,take a day off during the two weeks.3.Curative effect observation indexes:the characteristic of exter nal humeral epicondylitis is feature of the elbow pain,thus affecting elbow joint function and activity of upper extremities,so we will adopt the Chinese medical association manufactured under the supervision of experienced club visual analogue scale(Visual Analogue Score,VAS)score and the Mayo elbow function scoring system(Mayo elbow performance score,MEPS)to the overall curative effect evaluation of the external humeral epicondylitis.We will collect and record the curative effect of indexes before and after treatment,use SPSS 20.0 statistical software to record the result of statistical treatment and complete comparison analysis,so that we can evaluate the clinical efficacy of two groups of patients.4、Curative effect evaluation:according to the state administration of traditional Chinese medicine in 1994 issued by the "standard of diagnosis of disease and curative effect of traditional Chinese medicine",and compare efficacy of the two groups of patients.ResultsBy comparing patient ’ s age,gender and the course of the general clinical data between the two groups,the result shows that there is no statistical significance about the difference in two groups of patients in the general information(P>0.05),shows that two groups of patients with general data is in the unity on the baseline,and the two groups are comparable.Before receiving treatment,two groups of patients with visual analogue scale(VAS)and Mayo elbow function score(Mayo elbow performance score,MEPS),method recorded data are compared,and the statistical results show that the differences are not significant(P>0.05),shows comparability between the two groups of patients.In two weeks after the treatment,two groups of patients with VAS score and the Mayo elbow function score has improved than before treatment,P<0.05,the difference is statistically significant,prove that two groups of patients’ condition of external humeral epicondylitis is improved after treatment.Treatment of the control group and treatment group has curative effect,what’ s more,compared with the single acupuncture control group treatment,Qing long bai wei treatment group has better improvement of the treatment condition.It is embodied in the two groups after treatment comparison of the VAS score and the Mayo elbow joint function score,P<0.05,the difference is statistically significant.By overall evaluation of the clinical efficacy,treatment group total effective rate is 89.66%,better than the control group total effective rate was 70.00%,comparing the total effective rate(P<0.05)by signed-rank test,the difference is statistically significant,the clinical curative effect of treatment group is better than the control treatment group.ConclusionAfter two treatment courses,patients with the external humeral epicondylitis in these groups are improved,the function of elbow and forearm using function is restored,the Qing long bai wei treatment group shows better improvement of the pain and elbow joint function than the control group,and the curative effect plays a significant role on improvement of the patients who affected by the elbow pain and restricted movement in daily life,and this treatment is simple,safe treatment technique,to improve clinical curative effect,worth clinical application.
