| Objective: External humeral epicondylitis is a common and frequently occurring disease in orthopedics,mainly occured in middle-aged women and people engaged in special occupations.Its main clinical manifestation is pain on the outside of the elbow,which can be progressively aggravated.Some patients can radiate to the palm along the outside of the forearm,and in severe cases,elbow joint movement is restricted,which can seriously affect people’s lives.It is also known as "tennis elbow" because it is commonly seen in certain types of work,such as tennis players.In this paper,the patients hospitalized in the Second Department of Bone Injury in our hospital were selected as the research objects.The patients with wind-cold blocking collaterals type were selected in the research.The treatment method of External Application of Traditional Chinese Medicine combined with Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy(ESWT)was adopted,the Mayo score(MEPS)and grip strength score of elbow before and after treatment were observed to provide an effective treatment plan.Methods: 60 patients with external humeral epicondylitis those were hospitalized in the Department of Orthopedics of Hebei Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from March 2017 to March 2018 were selected and randomly and evenly divided into treatment group and control group according to the date of admission.The treatment group was treated with ESWT after topical application of Traditional Chinese Medicine,while the control group was only treated with ESWT.In this study,SPSS23.0 statistical software was used to compare the basic data of gender,age and affected limb.After treatment,the MEPS score and grip strength score of the two groupswere analyzed,and the curative effect after treatment was evaluated with reference to Standards for diagnosis and curative effect of Chinese medical symptom.Results: Before treatment,there appeared no significant difference in age,gender,limb status and other aspects between the two groups(P>0.05).After1 month of treatment,both the elbow MEPS score and grip strength score of the two groups were increased,and the treatment group was better than the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).The clinical effective rate of 93.3% in the treatment group was significantly higher than 83.3% in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion: The External Application of Traditional Chinese Medicine used in this study has the effect of removing wind and dispelling cold,dredging collaterals and relieving pain.ESWT can improve circulation and promote the repair of damaged tissue.The integration of the two method can not only alleviate the pain of patients and improve the quality of life,but also embody the diagnosis and treatment thinking of Traditional Chinese Medicine based on syndrome differentiation.At the same time,the application of External Application of Traditional Chinese Medicine can alleviate the side effects caused by the simple application of extracorporeal shock wave therapy,which is more acceptable by patients and worthy of further clinical application. |
