Part I: Research of the correlation between vitamin D receptor gene polymorphism and primary osteoporosisObjective: To explore the relationship between vitamin D receptor gene(VDRG)polymorphisms and primary osteoporosis(POP)in Han population in Liuzhou,Guangxi.Methods:(1)153 eligible cases(55 males and 98 females)were enrolled in this study. They were divided into osteoporosis(OP)group(82 cases, age 66.4±6.8)and control group(71 cases, age 63.2±7.3)according to bone mineral density(BMD)and fragile fracture.(2)Blood samples were collected from the patients' ulnar vein.VDRG rs7975232(Apa I)and rs11568820(Cdx2)were sequenced by SNP(single nucleotide polymorphism)analysis direct sequencing.Results:(1)There is no significant difference for the allele frequencies of A and C between OP group and control group(?2=0.002,P=0.965).The same is true for genotypes of AA/AC and CC(?2=0.145,P=0.703).The significant difference is not found for average LBMD(lumbar vertebral bone mineral density)of AA,AC and CC genotypes in OP group, control group or total sample(P>0.05).(2)There is no significant difference for the allele frequencies of C and T between OP group and control group(?2=0.068,P=0.794).The same is true for genotypes of CC,CT and TT(?2=0.293,P=0.864).The significant difference is not found for average LBMD(lumbar vertebral bone mineral density)of CC,CT and TT genotypes in OP group, control group or total sample(P>0.05).(3)Compared with the control group,OP group has more female patients, older age and smaller body mass index(BMI),and the difference is significant(P<0.05).(4)Statistically significant correlations between age,BMI and the prevalence of OP are found(P<0.05).And for age factor,B>0,OR>1;BMI factor B<0,OR<1.Conclusion:(1)There is no significant correlation between the polymorphisms of VDRG rs7975232(Apa I),rs11568820(Cdx2)and POP in the Han population in Liuzhou,Guangxi.(2)Age is a risk factor for POP,and the prevalence of POP is positively correlated with age.The prevalence of POP for females is higher than that for males at the age 45 to 75.(3)BMI is a protective factor for POP,and the prevalence of POP is negatively correlated with BMI.Part ?: Research of the correlation between SOX4 gene polymorphisms and primary osteoporosisObjective: To explore the relationship between SRY-related high-mobility-group box gene 4(SOX4)polymorphism and POP in Han population in Liuzhou,Guangxi.Methods:(1)153 eligible cases(55 males and 98 females)were enrolled in this study. They were divided into osteoporosis(OP)group(82 cases, age 66.4±6.8)and control group(71 cases, age 63.2±7.3)according to BMD and fragile fracture.(2)Blood samples were collected from the patients' ulnar vein.SOX4 rs16885105 was sequenced by SNP analysis direct sequencing. Results: There is no significant difference for the allele frequencies of C and T between OP group and control group(?2=0.358,P=0.549).The same is true for genotypes of CC and CT(?2=0.363,P=0.547).Conclusion: There is no significant correlation between the polymorphism of SOX4 rs16885105 and POP in the Han population in Liuzhou,Guangxi.
