| Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the expression of Ki67 and the prognostic value of Ki67 index along with other potential prognostic factors in gastric stromal tumor(GST).Methods: 163 histologically confirmed and operated patients in First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University from September 2013 to September 2017 with GST were included. The association among Ki67 index, clinicopathological features and risk classification were analyzed. Results: The expression of Ki67 was statistically significant in gender, ulceration, tumor size, mitotic count, and risk classification(P<0.05).Multiple parameters were analyzed for their effect on risk classification of GST,tumor site, ulceration, hemorrhage, necrosis, tumor size, mitotic count,Ki67 index reached statistical significance(P<0.05).Through paired comparison, there were statistically significant differences in Ki67 index between the high-risk group and the other three groups respectively, but no significant difference in Ki67 index between the very low risk group and low risk group, the very low risk group and intermediate risk group, the low risk group and intermediate risk group.Spearman rank correlation analysis showed that there was no correlation between the combination of other tumors and risk grade. In multivariate analysis, there were only 3 parameters that have impact on risk grade of GST,tumor size, mitotic count and necrosis(P<0.05).Conclusion: Ki67 index is associated with high risk of GST,but it could not be considered as an effective complementation of the modified NIH criteria in predicting the prognosis of GST. |
