Objective: To study the expression and relationship of TGF-β1, E-cadherinan,Vimentin and to investigate the correlation of TGF-β1-induced epithelial-mesench ymal transition of Squamous-cell Carinoma of Lung.Methods: 60 patients'clinic pathology data and paraffin blocks were collected. The expression of TGF-β1,E-cadherin and Vimentin was detected by MaxVision TM immunohistochemicial method.Results: 1,The expression rate of TGF-β1 protein was significantly higher in Squamous-cell Carinoma of Lung tissues than in adjacent non-cancerous tissues (33.3% vs 16.6%, P <0.05); The expression of TGF-β1 inⅢ~Ⅳof TNM staging was higher than that inⅠ~Ⅱof cancer tissue. Metastasis group was higher than metastases group. Low differentiate group was higher than middle and high group(P<0.05), which was not related with gender, age and tumor size.2,The expression rate of E-cadherin protein was significantly lower in Squamous-cell Carinoma of Lung tissues than in adjacent non-cancerous tissues (53.3% vs 80%, P <0.01); The expression of E-cadherin in metastasis group was lower than metastases group, and middle and high differentiate group were lower than low differentiate group. The expression wasn't related with gender, age, tumor size and TNM staging. 3,The expression rate of Vimentin protein was higher in Squamous-cell Carinoma of Lung tissues than in adjacent non-cancerous tissues (46.1% vs 0%, P < 0.01). The expression of Vimentin in metastasis group was higher than metastases group. The expression of Vimentin inⅢ~Ⅳof TNM staging was higher than that inⅠ~Ⅱof cancer tissue(P<0.05), which wasn't related with gender, age, tumor size and differentiation. 4,In Squamous-cell Carinoma of Lung, the expression of TGF-β1 was negatively correlated to that of E-cadherin (r= -0.26, P = 0.046), but positively correlated to that of Vimentin protein (r= 0.331, P = 0.011); in addition, the expression of E-cadherin was no correlated to that of Vimentin protein (r= -0.004, P = 0.973).Conclusion:1,The expression rate of TGF-β1 protein was significantly higher in Squamous-cell Carinoma of Lung tissues than in normal tissues ,the expression of TGF-β1 was negatively correlated to that of E-cadherin ,but positively correlated to that of Vimentin protein ,Epithelial-mesenchymal transition induced by TGF-β1 may be present in Squamous-cell Carinoma of Lung .2,The abnormal expression of TGF-β1 may play an important role in the malignant progression of Squamous-cell Carinoma of Lung.
