Objective: 1.To analyze the relationship between serum soluble ST2(s ST2)and chronic heart failure in elderly patients with chronic heart failure.2.To study the relationship between s ST2 and gender,age,blood pressure,heart rate,left ventricular ejection fraction((LVEF)),left ventricular end-diastolic diameter((LVEDD)),body mass index((BMI)),brain natriuretic peptide(BNP),osteoprotegerin(OPG),serum creatinine(Scr),cystatin C(Cys C)and other biomarkers.3.The level of s ST2 in patients with heart failure was compared with that in healthy people.Methods: From January 2018 to December 2019,98 elderly patients with heart failure(68 males and 30 females)admitted to Ruikang Hospital of Guangxi University of traditional Chinese Medicine and Department of Cardiology(? 60 years old,mean age 72.7 ±11.4)were selected as the study group,and 102 elderly healthy subjects(? 60 years old,mean age 60.5±12.2)were selected as the control group.Other systemic diseases such as allergic diseases,autoimmune diseases,acute trauma,lung diseases,abnormal liver and kidney function,hematopoietic system diseases,connective tissue diseases and tumors were excluded.The study group(heart failure group): 68 males and 30 females,54 cases of cardiac function grade(NYHA): II,41 cases of III grade and 3 cases of IV class).Control group: male: 57 cases,female: 45 cases(control group were all healthy people).The heart failure group included coronary heart disease(n = 43),valvular heart disease(n = 18),congestive cardiomyopathy(n = 17)and hypertensive heart disease(n = 20).The data were analyzed by SPSS 25.0.The measurement data were expressed by mean ±standard deviation(x ±S),the measurement data satisfying normal distribution were analyzed by single factor analysis of variance(one-way ANOVA),),the measurement data of skewed distribution were expressed by median and quartile interval(Q=P75-P25),the rank sum test was used for inter-group comparison,and the correlation between serum soluble ST2 and brain natriuretic peptide and ejection fraction was analyzed by linear correlation.Spearman analysis was used to analyze the correlation,and all the data showed that the difference of the experimental data was statistically significant.Results:(1)the serum BNP,OPG,LVEDD,Scr and Cys C in the heart failure group were higher than those in the normal control group,and the left ventricular ejection fraction in the heart failure group was lower than that in the normal control group(p <0.05).There was no significant difference in age,gender,group and normal control group,and there was no significant difference in systolic blood pressure,diastolic blood pressure,heart rate and body mass index between the two groups.(2)with the deterioration of cardiac function,the level of serum ST2 increased,so the level of ST2 was positively correlated with the severity of heart failure.(3)in heart failure group,age,gender,LVEDD,systolic blood pressure((SBP)),diastolic blood pressure((DBP)),diastolic blood pressure(BMI)and heart rate were not correlated with s ST2 level(r = 0.012,p >0.05),s ST2 level was positively correlated with BNP(r = 0.402,p <0.05),with OPG(r = 0.394,p <0.05),with Scr(r = 0.271,p <0.05),and with Cys C(r = 0.236,p <0.05).There was a negative correlation between s ST2 and LVEF(r = 0.231,P <0.05and);(2).There was no significant correlation between the level of s ST2 in the control group and the control group(P >0.05).Conclusion: 1.The concentration of serum s ST2 is increased in patients with chronic heart failure,and the elevated level is closely related to the severity of heart failure.2.In patients with chronic heart failure,BNP,OPG,LVEF,Scr,Sys C are related to serum soluble ST2 concentration,but gender,age,LVEDD,blood pressure,heart rate,BMI and serum soluble ST2 concentration are not related.3.Combined with cardiac color Doppler ultrasound,s ST2 can better predict the prognosis of patients with heart failure and play a positive role in the diagnosis,treatment and prognosis of patients with heart failure.
