Objective : With the observation of the clinical effect and safety of Sanrenxiaocuo soup plus fire acupuncture for treating common acne, also known as vulgaris and is commonly(phlegm and blood stasis syndrome),and the resulting analysis of its mechanism of action from the micro level,it is expected to provide a basis for the treatment of moderate and severe acne within a scientific frame. Methods: 66 selected patients were randomly divided into the control group and the treatment group with 33 patients in each group. The control group was treated only with the Sanrenxiaocuo soup, the treatment group was given extra fire acupuncture. Both groups were externally applied with Fusidic Acid Cream.Four weeks for a course of treatment, the patients were followed up once a week.TCM syndrome score,GAGS score, serum interleukin-6 objective index, adverse reaction, recurrence rate were evaluated in the end.Results:1.Among the 66 patients, there were 5 ineffective patients excluded from the experiment, including 2 in the treatment group,3 in the control group,so 61 effective cases were collected. Before treatment, there was no significant different in baseline data such as gender, age, course of disease,TCM syndrome score,GAGS score, serum interleukin-6 objective index,DLQI score and so on(P>0.05),which was comparable.2.After treatment,in the treatment group,4 cases were cured,18 cases were markedly effective,8 cases were effective, and 1 case was ineffective. The effective rate was 96.77%,and the cure rate was 70.97%.The control group 1 case was recovered, markedly effective in 13 cases, effective 13 patients, invalid 3 cases, efficiency of90.00%,the curative and remarkably efficient rate was 46.67%.The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05),the treatment group was superior to the control group.3.After treatment,GAGS score in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).And the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),the treatment group was better than the other group.4.After treatment, the TCM syndrome scores of two groups were lower than before(P<0.05),and there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).5.There was no significant different in serum interleukin-6 objective index before and after treatment(P>0.05).6.At the end of treatment, the DLQI scores of two groups were lowed than before(P<0.05),and there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).7.Adverse reaction was evaluated after treatment. There were 1 patient in the treatment group accounting for 3.23%,and 2 patients in the control group accounting for 6.67%.The symptoms disappeared after reducing the number of times of administration. There was no significant difference in adverse reactions(P>0.05).8.Follow-up of 3 months after discontinuation, the recurrence rates of the two groups were 9.09% in the treatment group and 21.43% in the control group. The recurrence rate of the two groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusions:1.The combined therapy of Sanrenxiaocuo soup and fire acupuncture has obvious clinical effect on acne vulgaris. The incidence of adverse reactions was remarkably reduced after treatment.2.Fire acupuncture for acne need short time and long interval of treatment time, which has good compliance. It’s good particularly at moderate and severe acne, and it’s one of the treatment methods worth promoting.
