Objective: To observe the symptom relief and efficacy evaluation of maintenance therapy with traditional Chinese medicine decoction for advanced non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC),and to explore an effective method for maintenance therapy of advanced non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods: A total of 40 patients diagnosed with advanced non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)in jilin cancer hospital from August 11,2016 to December,2019.12,who were diagnosed with CR,PR or SD after first-line chemotherapy, were given traditional Chinese medicine decoction orally through syndrome differentiation,4 weeks for a course of treatment, until intolerance or contraband appeared.Results:1.PFS: The overall median PFS of patients with advanced NSCLC in the four groups was 7.8 months, which was 2.2 months longer than the retrospective median PFS of patients who did not continue maintenance treatment after stabilization of previous first-line chemotherapy in our hospital.2.Short-term efficacy(within 6 months): the overall response rate of patients with advanced NSCLC in the four groups was 30%,and the overall disease control rate was80%.3.TCM syndrome score: the TCM syndrome score of the four groups of patients with advanced NSCLC significantly decreased after treatment, with P < 0.05,indicating statistical significance.4.Quality of life assessment: after treatment, the quality of life score of the four groups of patients with advanced NSCLC silightly increased(P > 0.05),which was no statistically significant.5.KPS score: after treatment, the KPS score of the four groups of patients with advanced NSCLC significantly increased(P < 0.05),which was statistically significant.6.Safety assessment: there was no significant change in liver and kidney function after treatment and before treatment in the four groups of patients with advanced NSCLC(P > 0.05),no statistical significance. The hemoglobin in blood routine was significantly improved after treatment compared with that before treatment(P < 0.05),which wasstatistically significant. Conclusion: Traditional Chinese medicine maintenance therapy can achieve better efficacy in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer, which is of positive significance for improving the quality of life and prolonging the survival period of patients.
