Objective:To evaluate whether Yangyin Qufeng decoction can relieve the symptoms and improve the quality of life and the clinical efficacy and enrich the ideas of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)in the treatment of post-infectious cough by comparing the difference between Yangyin Qufeng decoction and western medicine in reducing scores of TCM syndrome and Leicester Cough Questionnaire(LCQ)in patients with post-infectious cough of pathogenic wind-induced cough syndrome. Methods:Sixty patients with post-infectious cough in the respiratory department of Province Hospital from December 2018 to December 2019 were randomly divided into treatment group(n=30)and control group(n=30).The treatment group was treated with Yangyin Qufeng decoction, taking 1 dose daily and taking it separately in the morning and evening for 1 week, while the control group was given Huifeining(desloratadine citrate disodium combined with dextromethorphan hydrobromide, chlorpheniramine maleate and pseudoephedrine),and the course of treatment was 1 week. The scores of TCM syndrome and LCQ were recorded on the 1st and 7th day.We observed the changes of scores before and after treatment and evaluated the clinical efficacy through statistical analysis.Results:1.After one week of treatment in the treatment group and the control group, the cough scores, pharynx itching scores, dry mouth scores, daytime cough scores and night cough scores in the treatment group and the control group were significantly lower than those before treatment(P<0.05),the decrease of these five scores in the treatment group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).2.After one week of treatment in the treatment group and the control group, the scores of expectoration and shortness of breath in the treatment group and the control group were lower than those before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),there was no significant difference between the treatment group and the control group in the degree of decline in these two points(P>0.05).3.After one week of treatment in the treatment group and the control group, the total syndrome scores of the two groups were significantly lower than before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The difference between the two groups after treatment was statistically significant(P<0.05).4.After one week of treatment in the treatment group and the control group, the total LCQ scores and scores of each part of LCQ were lower than before treatment, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).5.After one week of treatment in the treatment group and the control group, the efficacy of the TCM syndromes in the control group:the total effective rate was 90%,the sum of the cure rate and the apparent efficiency was 16.7%;the efficacy of the TCM syndromes in the treatment group:the total effective rate was 96.7%,and the sum of the cure rate and the apparent efficiency was 46.6%.There was significant difference between the two groups after treatment(P<0.05).Conclusion:The application of Yangyin Qufeng decoction in the treatment of post-infection cough of pathogenic wind-induced cough syndrome can significantly relieve the clinical symptoms of patients, especially cough, itching of pharynx, dry mouth and dry pharynx, and can significantly reduce the physical, psychological and social annoyance caused by cough. It can significantly improve the quality of life of the patients, improve the clinical curative effect, and further enrich the ideas of TCM in treating PIC.
