Background: Vitamin D Receptor(VDR)gene polymorphism may be associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder(ASD),which has been found in many studies, but no significant relationship has been found in others. Therefore, the relationship between VDR gene polymorphism and the susceptibility of ASD is still controversial. Objective: To explore the relationship between VDR gene polymorphism and the susceptibility of ASD.Methods: The data of PubMed,EMBASE,Cochrane,CNKI,VIP database and Wanfang database were searched by computer to collect case-control study. After literature screening, data extraction and quality evaluation,Review Manager 5.3 software was used for statistical analysis.Results:1.A total of 8 studies were included, all of which were in English. There were 1168 patients in the ASD group and 1160 persons in the control group.2.There were statistically significant differences in various gene models found in VDR TaqI.The allele model(C VS.T)(OR=1.30,95% CI:[1.12,1.49],P=0.0003),homozygous model(CC VS.TT)(OR=1.74,95% CI:[1.26,2.41],P=0.0008),explicit model(CT+CC VS.TT)(OR=1.30,95% CI:[1.08,1.57],P=0.005),recessive model(CC VS.TT+CT)(OR=1.61,95% CI:[1.19,2.19],P=0.002).Allele C,genotype CC,or genotype CT+CC in VDR TaqI may be risk factors for ASD.3.For VDR FokI,there were significant differences in the homozygous model(TT vs.CC)(OR=1.39,95%CI:[1.04,1.87],P=0.03)and the implicit model(TT vs.CC+CT)(OR=1.36,95%CI:[1.05,1.75],P=0.02).VDR FokI genotype TT may be a risk factor for ASD.4.For VDR ApaI,there were statistically significant differences in the allele model(G vs.T)(OR=0.82,95%CI:[0.68,0.99],P=0.04).Allele G of VDR ApaI may be a protective factor for ASD.5.For VDR BsmI and Cdx2,there was no significant statistical difference between the ASD group and the control group in any model(P>0.05).Conclusion: VDR ApaI,FokI and TaqI may be correlated with the susceptibility of ASD.VDR BsmI and Cdx2 may be independent of the susceptibility of ASD.
