ObjectiveThe advantages and disadvantages of CO2 laser in the treatment of elderly laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma patients were discussed by analyzing whether it has a good therapeutic effect compared with the traditional open surgery.MethodRetrospective analysis was performed on 62 cases of t1-t2 laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma, which were divided into the laser group?31 cases?and the general group?31 cases?according to the surgical methods. The recovery, laryngeal function preservation, complications and postoperative survival rate of the two groups were compared..ResultsIn the laser group,31 patients with laryngeal tumor had obvious hoarseness symptoms after surgery, and were followed up for 3 to 37 months. One of the patients with glottic T2N0M0 had a recurrence one year after surgery, and received the second laser surgery. In the general group,31 patients were followed up for 4-47 months,28patients were followed up for tumor-free survival,1 patient with suboglottic T2N0MO died of postoperative recurrence, and 2 patients with glottic T1aN0M0 and T1bN0M0 were lost to follow-up after surgery.Kaplan-meier method was used to calculate the 3-year cumulative survival rate in both groups.ConclusionMicroscopic laryngoscope under CO2 laser for elderly T1 and T2 stage effect of the treatment of patients with laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma, and compared to open surgery, less damage to the anatomic structure, less blood loss, but also good save the form and function of the throat, and 3 year survival rates were higher than open surgery, for early in elderly patients with laryngeal tumor?T1,T2 stage?operation method is worth extending.
