Objective: To investigate the expression of CD133 and ALDH1A1 in gastric cancer tissues and its relationship with clinical characteristics and prognosis.In order to provide new ideas for the diagnosis and treatment of gastric cancer in the future.Methods: Standardized selection during February 2012 to February 2014 from the center of the gansu province people's hospital of general clinical specimens of 80 patients with gastric cancer surgery,using immunohistochemical method to detect CD133 and ALDH1A1 expressed in gastric cancer and cancer adjacent tissues,and clinical pathology in patients with the collected data,follow-up data using SPSS 25.0 statistical software for analysis.Results: Both CD133 and ALDH1A1 were expressed in gastric cancer tissues,with positive expression rates of 43.7%(35/80)and 46.2%(37/80),respectively.CD133 expression was significantly correlated with tumor differentiation(P = 0.003),lymph node metastasis(P = 0.009),and tumor pTNM stage(P = 0.005).ALDH1A1 expression was significantly associated with lymph node metastasis(P = 0.015),tumor differentiation(P =0.002),and tumor pTNM stage(P = 0.000).Survival in patients with single factor analysis of the relevant age(> = 60)(P = 0.023),lymph node metastasis(P = 0.001),degree of tumor differentiation(low,not)(P = 0.001),pTNM staging(III/IV)(P = 0.004)and CD133 positive(P < 0.001),ALDH1A1 positive(P = 0.049),joint index positive(CD133,ALDH1A1 expression dual positive)(P < 0.001) suggests that related to the survival time of patients.Cox multivariate survival analysis suggested that differentiation(P= 0.007),lymph nodemetastasis(P= 0.001),and combined index(both positive for CD133 and ALDH1A1)(P=0.001)were independent factors influencing the prognosis of gastric cancer patients.Conclusion:(1)Both CD133 and ALDH1A1 were positively expressed in gastric cancer tissues,and they may be involved in the development of gastric cancer.(2)CD133 and ALDH1A1 expression were correlated with tumor differentiation,pTNM stage,and lymph node metastasis,suggesting that these two may play a role in the development of gastric tumors.(3)The double positive expression of CD133 and ALDH1A1,the degree of differentiation of the tumor,and the lymph node metastasis were independent factors related to survival of gastric cancer patients.
