Essential concepts in the English Course Standard clearly clarify that the course shall especially focus on every student's emotion to arouse their interest in English learning,help them establish the sense of achievement and the confidence in English learning and to train their basic English communication abilities.The school I am working in is a common rural middle school,where,difficulty in learning English has been a great problem.Study on students with English learning difficulties to help them is an indispensable part of an English teacher's work and I,as a teacher working on English teaching in a rural middle school for many years,found that in order to help students with English learning difficulties better,it is necessary to further study and analyze the causes.This paper,targeted at the "students with English learning difficulties" of grade 7 in Wenhua Middle School in Zigui,by means of literature review,questionnaire,interview and observation,researches the causes of English learning difficulties.It is found that there mainly are three causes:?.Influence of learning strategies(cognition,regulation,emotion,communication and resources);?.Individual factors(motivation,interest,will and disposition);?.Circumstantial factors(society,family,school and teacher).This paper consists of five parts.The first part introduces the research subject,content and method.The second part defines "students with learning difficulties" and "students with English learning difficulties" by means of literature review and sums up the current situation of domestic and foreign researches on "students with learning difficulties" The third part studies and analyzes the present status of "students with English learning difficulties" in rural middle school.The fourth part researches and analyzes the factors hindering students,in rural middle school,to learn English well.The fifth part puts forward the strategy for changing the adverse situation of "students with English learning difficulties" in rural middle school.
