Object clause is a grammatical item under the language knowledge in the new curriculum standard.It is one of the compound sentences in middle school English grammar and one of the compulsory items in the senior high school examination.The effective understanding and usage of object clauses in middle school is helpful to the learning of noun clauses in senior high school.But in the students' study,the most difficult thing for them to learn is English grammar,especially compound sentences.Although students master the use of object clauses,they make more mistakes in learning and spend more time thinking.Many students' grammatical knowledge of the object clause is shaky,so it is not good for the learning of the attributive clause.At present,the research on object clauses mainly focuses on the skills of doing exercise.Although there are many studies on learning difficulties,they are not comprehensive,only a few parts involved English grammar learning difficulties.Domestic and foreign researches on demotivation are relatively complete,but they do not go deep into specific knowledge points,so they cannot provide practical and effective help for teachers and have little guiding significance for teaching practice.Therefore,it's necessary to use the learning difficulties and the demotivation as the foundation,and combining with teaching practice,investigation and study the causes of students object clause learning difficulties,then according to the reasons to make a scientific analysis and solve the problems.At last put forward the teaching strategies suitable for the development of students so as to lay a good foundation for students'language learningThrough the methods of observation,questionnaire and interview,this paper investigated 310 students of grade 9 in No.159 Middle School in Changchun and three other schools of the same level in this region.In addition,35 questionnaires were distributed to teachers in four schools.After analyzing the investigation results,the author found the problems that students have in learning object clauses.For students:Learning object clauses is boring so they don't have interested in learning.A lot of students do not preview before class,and some students do not know the preview key.It takes them a long time to finish a paper because of the lack of skills.After class,the students are lazy in thinking and sorting out the wrong questions.They think it is not necessary to review the knowledge they have learned.They don't pay attention to the way the teacher did.For teachers,they leave less time for students to think alone in class,lack of guidance of methods and skills,and can not use new evaluation methods.In view of the reasons,the author put forward the following teaching suggestions:When the students do the exercises,they could use formular in rhyme to remember and division method to choose the right answer in a single selection.Games can be used in specific classes to increase students' interest in learning English.Creating a situation is a good way to make students understand the sentence in the real context.Using of micro-class and task list to make sure the owners of the class are the students;It is suggested that the teachers could use mind map,hand-copied newspaper method and video homework method to conclude the lessons.The research of this paper is helpful for teachers to better understand the causes of students' learning difficulties and has great guidance and help to teaching practice.
