With the rapid development of the Internet,social networking sites have become a new field of social activities and new media of social interaction.In social networking sites,people can exchange ideas freely,establish feelings and make a self-presentation,so that social networking sites are more and more popular among Internet users.Self-presentation in social networking sites generally refers to the process that people influence or change the impression of others in social networking sites by controlling the content and way of presentation.Self-presentation in social networking sites is different from that in the reality.Self-presentation in social networking sites is more open and free,which is an ideal platform for self-presentation.Previous studies on influence factors of self-presentation in social networking sites and presentation strategies of universities in the social networking sites are investigated,and a study found that the social networking sites' self-presentation has a positive effect on self-esteem and life satisfaction.Through the quantitative and qualitative research methods,this study explores current characteristics of college students in social networking sites,including self-presentation,self-esteem,subjective well-being and their relations.The study includes two parts:the first research uses the method of questionnaire investigation and 650 college students were tested by using the questionnaires of "Scale of Self-presentation in Social Networking Sites",SES,and SWB.The survey data were statistically analyzed by using SPSS 20.0.The second research further explores college students' self-presentation strategies,self-esteem and subjective well-being in social networking sites using the interview method.In the study,12 representative college students were interviewed and observed.The data were coded and analyzed using the grounded theory research method.The results obtained are as follows:(1)There is no significant difference in gender,grade,place of origin and only child or none-only child among college students' positive self-presentation in the social networking sites.(2)The is no significant difference in place of origin and only child or none-only child among college students' honest self-presentation in social networking sites,but there is significant difference in gender and grade.Boys can make a more real self-presentation than girls in social networking sites.The more senior students,the less they make their real self-presentation in social networking sites.(3)College students' level of self-esteem and subjective well-being is generally higher.There is no significant difference in gender,grade,place of origin and only child or none-only child.(4)The self-presentation of college students' social networking sites is positive relation to the self-esteem,college students' self-presentation in social networking sites is positively related to life satisfaction and positive affect,negatively related to the negative affect.Self-esteem is positively related to life satisfaction and positive affect,negatively related to the negative affect.(5)Self-esteem mediated the relationship between self-presentation and subjective well-being.(6)Self-presentation of college students in social networking sites mainly includes the presentation of positive activities,positive energy thought,positive emotion,real image,true feelings,true experiences and audience groups.(7)College Students' self-esteem is mainly reflected in the learning ability,social ability,work ability,self-affirmation and social evaluation.(8)College Students' subjective well-being is mainly reflected in the life environment satisfaction,interpersonal satisfaction,personal achievement satisfaction,and positive and negative emotional experience.
