A Translation Report On Sino-Japanese Joint Statement

With the development of the times and the progress of science and technology,there are more and more frequent communication among countries,and nmore and more attention on diplomatic translation.It can be said that if no diplomatic translation international activities will be very difficult.The author is very interested in foreign statement by studying The foreign diplomatic translation,and specifically study for the joint statement between China and Japan.The author refers to many data and Literature about joint statement between Japanese and China in spare time.Moreover,the author translated the joint statement(Japanese to Chinese)of more than 40 years after the restoration of diplomatic relations in 1972.During the translating process,the author is based on the official parallel version and achieved some certain understanding and comprehension on joint statement translating.In this paper,first of all the author introduced the translation background of the Sino-Japanese joint statement,the development of the Sino-Japanese relations.and the text feature of the Sino-Japanese joint statement.Second,the author introduced the translation methods and strategies that used in the translation for the Sino-Japanese joint statement trough the analysis of specific cases.There are many diplomatic documents,meeting name,international organizations and abbreviations name in the joint statement,which needs the author to master the correct translation.In addition,the author sumarized them and presented in tabular form in the text.Therefore,the author analyzes the joint statement through verb processing,the title processing and sentence processing.Finally,the author summarized the translating practice,pointed out the lack of it.and got the inspiration and prospect to the further studying and working.Because of the strong political color in the joint statement,translating joint statement not only needs the translator has good language skills and expressing ability,but also needs the translator has keen political sensitivity and high sense of responsibility and mission.It believes that this translation report will provide the author great help and reference for the future translation work.
