An Analysis Of Thailand-china Ethnic Fusion From The Perspective Of The Evolution Of Chinese Temples In Thailand

Chinese people and Thai people have communicated with each other over the years.For a long time,Thailand has always been one of the most densely populated areas for Southeast Asian Chinese in Southeast Asia.Back to Sukhothai dynasty,Chinese have begun to move to Thailand.With the increase of the number of Chinese immigrants to Thailand,the phenomenon of fusion of the Thai nationalities appears.This kind of fusion is embodied in economic,political and cultural aspects.This paper selects the perspective of religious culture,and chooses the Chinese temple as a starting point,to explore how the religious culture from Thai Chinese contacts,collides and fuses with the Thai native religious Culture in the process of integration.This paper is divided into five chapters.The first chapter introduces the research status of the relationship between Chinese temples and ethnic Chinese with Southeast Asian countries in the domestic and foreign literature and the research methods and research significance of this paper.The second chapter introduces the formation process of Chinese society in Thailand and the integration of the two nations,mainly from the four aspects of intermarriage,nationality,language culture and religious culture.The third chapter makes the birth of Chinese temple in Thailand,the formation and development processes clear according to the chronological order,and analyzes the similarities and differences between Chinese temples and Thai temple.The fourth chapter analyzes the influence of Chinese temples on the religious culture of Thailand,and the status quo of the integration of Thai culture and Chinese culture,from five aspects——religious belief,religious festival,Chinese temple distribution area,architectural style and Chinese temple's influence on Thai Buddhism.The last part is the conclusion.This paper concludes that the Chinese temples have been accepted by Thai society since the introduction of Thai temples and also influenced the religious culture of Thailand.Moreover,during the process of development,the Chinese temples makes adjustment according to the reality of Thai society on the basis of its raw culture,which Indicates that the degree of integration of Thai and Chinese nation has reached a high level.Meanwhile,in the context of global globalization and regional integration,this kind of integration is a consequent trend.
